Good Day everyone

I just found out the other day

that 2 out of 3 of my plants are male

not sure about the 3rd yet

was hoping for one as i've never

had a male plant before but not 2

and seeds are better

for me as I don't smoke much anymore

but still like to have a plant

anyway I have some lowryder seeds

do you think I would have time

to grow a female lowryder to breed with

my males

and how long do they make pollen for

also as it's hard to find info on male plants

any other info would be great too

hope your having better luck outdoors this year

Generally speaking, males do not last long after flowering commences. So your lowryder plants started after you recognise the males, will not necessarily reach much size before the males are exhausted. If you are growing outdoors your lowryder females will mature early at this time of year. This coupled with the practice of clipping the flowers off the male to keep it growing may well coincide with your plan but don't count on it. Taking cuttings of your best males.. ie: ones with characteristics you want, can extend the life of males for special purposes. You could always read my post on grafting if you'd rather at least get some female buds.

To avoid males. Start very early in the season. Plant in autumn or late winter you will know all your males well before they are going to be a problem, you can graft them or remove them. The good part is that at this stage., if you planted early enough; that there will still be a season in which to try a few more seeds.

I generally find May the best month to sow outdoors as the soil is still warm.. and it is usually raining. I have seen seeds germinate and be frozen solid the next day yet still survive happily.

Some info on males may be found here:

There is little you can do with hermaphrodites .. except graft them or pull them out. http://www.weedfarmer.com/g2.2/main.php/ma...geViewsIndex=1:

I had a male White Widow once that was covered in crystals like a female bud, could of smoked it and got high.

Crossed it instead with an Afghani and got seeds for the summer grow.

The plants were looking good but I didn't get to see their full potential as I had to pull them early after catching a would be ripper at the site with a large empty backpack just ready to start filling it with my plants.

And they weren't even ready to harvest.

I hate rippers.
