You're right . It's rather broad of me to imply ALL grass is the same, I guess it's just that commerical grass strains are selected on the grounds of bud weight and growing space, and so heavy indicas get choosen as a rule, hence the same ol, same ol kinda routine.

Before helicopters and slow search planes were used, commerical growers werej ust as happy to plant sativas as anything, in fact they would have prefered to have, given that they'd demand higher prices for trippier weed. But surely with so many strains bveing bred "out there", there must be some great stuf really here and there.

The Beladonna mentioned earlier has me hooked already, just got to order some.,But it seems so cheap, I dont undertsnad that.

Tell ya what mate, if you could possibly ask around to find out what that stuff was called you just described I'd appreciate it so very much. it's the kinda gear I'm looking for. Or if u can't find out, could u describe what it looked like? But what it's called would be so good.

You know until indoor grass got off the ground in Aus, I dont know if I ever had smoked an indica. I suppose I had (it's not as straight forward as sativa is"up"indica is "down" I dont think ey? Not always, without exception ),but that's how it all felt to some of us .I read about indicas in ed rosenthal and mel frank's book "the marijuana grower's handbook" (the one with the pic of 4 nice plants on the cover...quiet a text book thickness and format. Printed in the 60sor70s).

ANyway, when I first started to see small fat leaved plants I thought they were really exotic and unusual.

I even pressed them in encyclopedias :smoke:. Funny thing, I sold them to a second hand book shop one day, and had forgotten about all these dope leaves I'd pressed in the books. I wonder what happened to them. That was many years ago now.

Thanks for the hope man..telling me about the smoke u lucked onto I mean.:peace:

cheers

I must be a similar age to you , robbie. All my earlier experiences were sativas. I still remember the first indica I grew which looked so unusual with its fat leaves, no branches and its refusal to get above chest height. It was a real hash plant though. The gear around today is consistently so much better but I still cant find the really outstanding gear you talk of. Less variety in the effect today. That really strong trippy stuff seems to have disappeared.

Maybe you could try some of the seed companies that specialise in sativas like Ace seeds or Afropips. I also noticed that Gypsys GN collection has a thai stick sativa and a strain from Laos that might be worth a look. Supposed to be landrace. I was thinking of getting some myself but my growing conditions (indoors) would not do it justice.

Used to be some great strains grown all along the N.S.W. coast. Surely some of these are still going?

I'll see what I can find out Robbie but people selling are pretty tight lipped about strains around here. I think its cos they actually are growing and dont want people to know that they are so are purposly vauge about those sort of details :smoke: I got that gear from a friend of a friend situation so I'll ask around may get lucky.

This stuff was fairly bright green colour, light fluffy buds that you could squish easily with a fair amount of frost on closer inspection and a resonably strong aroma once mulled that was kinda fresh and herbal, a slight fruit note I guess but definatly not that oily skunky sorta smell. The taste was a little sweet and creamy but it was also cured quite well so that may have helped that a fair bit. I'm thinking this may have been some of someones personal grow.

I know for a fact that alot of Silver Haze gets grown in SA and as I mentioned earlier I know of a bloke who grew shit loads of it and got busted about the time you mentioned (6-7 years ago) I smoked some of this and it is very trippy head weed and very very potent and I have recognised it in deals that I have bought even until recent times. The buds are bright green and frosty but at the same time very tight. Another strain thats very popular in SA is Jack Herer and I have brought quite a few Oz's were the guy selling told me its Jack Herer and that stuff is fairly trippy too and distinctive in appearance smell and effect, I recognise that shit now and can say 100%, thats Jack Herer, see it all the time. Not as trippy as silver Haze though. I'd look into the Haze strains but especially Silver Haze, thats supposed to be the trippiest of all of them.

I smoked some pretty psychedelic stuff with a mate a few days ago. A few fairly strong visuals expesialy with eyes closed. I was concerned that there was chemicals or fertilizer in it, was kinda hard to burn and had a strange smell. Im sick of getting shit weed, sometimes it tastes like fly spray.

if it was sprayed with fly spray that would explain the weird taste and visuals :freak:

I always think it is funny when people talk about 'laced' weed. As weed is about $10 a gram reatail why would anyone put another more expensive drug with it. As i have never heard of pcp in australia i would expect the price of it to be very high. Lets say its $300 a gram retail. I don't know what the dose would be but lets say its half a point. So if you get about 20 (just to make the maths easy)cones out of your stick and have 5 cones a session. That would mean for you to have 4 doses in a stick you would need 2 points of pcp. Costing the dealer a grand total of $60 of pcp and say $14 dollars for the stick (the dealer gets it cheaper than you). So you've paid the dealer $20 and he loses out $54. I've heard so many stories of weed being laced,it just isn't economical. In a perfect world it would happen but sadly we don't. I have heard of this pcp and pot thing going on in america but my friends from there told me that people usually buy the drugs separately and THEN mix them together.

As for buds laced with dmt (retail $80-$150 around here), not only is the dealer going to be out of pocket again but the weed would smell like dmt, which is never going to be a good selling point.

When i was in high school and we'd get good weed there would always be some dickhead saying 'the weeds laced with smack' and i would reply "they're never going to cut a cheap drug with an expensive drug, you're just a pussy.' and thats why i reckon some people say that the get laced weed from never being that intoxicated before.

The only type of lacing of weed that i have come across is when a dealer rolls the buds in really fine glass to make them look more chron. Apparently they do this so that they can screen the buds first to make hash and then roll them in glass so that the consumer cannot tell. Happened in europe to me. Its also pretty hard to tell sometimes, but if you tap the buds on something dark you can see the glass come off. Its a VERY dodgy practice, id take smack laced buds over glass ones any day, especially fo $20.

When I was a kid we used to get stuff periodically that turned ya bum hole inside out. Really fucked you up, and it felvery similar to acid; which I suppose is why we called it acid grass. The last time I smoked soemthing like this, was a very tight but light bud I bought an oz of, that had come from South Asutralia about 7 (maybe 6) years ago. It was wild, the kinda stuff that makes you think someone else is int he room with ya. Certainly not the kinda grass you'd let someone with bad nevers come into.

I have no idea what it was, I bought it as an excuse to drop in on a mate's son who was selling bags, and before I moved away i just wanted to see if he was alright. Buying the bag was just a rouse.

The buds were white, maybe flecks of orange, but that's guessing now, the best I can recall was the very pale tone. Very tight and very light, which I suppose was the result of some additive to make heavier weight, duno but for sure.

If flowering time, and plant height were of no concern, nor harvest weight a concern..and any strain in the world could be got hold of, what would everyone suggest would be the plant to buy for this kinda high?

I see THSeeds have S.A.G.E. which they claim is 20% THC and virtually no CBN or CBD...I've never grown nevilles haze, but that has a similar reputation. Hell, c999 was supposed to be trippy years ago and I never found it to be such. Nice smoke and all, but not powerful .

Anyone tried anything that fits the bill? heard of anything even?

I'd really appreciate it.

thanks

rob

G'day Rob,

Sounds like the grass we used to buy in the late 70's in Melb, it was called zombie, full on hallucinations, legend was that is was laced with horse tranquiliser. Dunno what was in it but it was wild. I have some kushage seeds and just got some belladonna seeds. My grow cabinet is taking its fucking time to get itself together(keeps needing me to work on it B) ) will let you know how they smoke if you haven't found something else by then.

Going to grow some outdoors in the warmer weather.

Cheers
