Does anyone have any ideas that can be used to further the Cannabis Law Reform movement?

I think Luke had a great idea of starting a Norml chapter in Australia. This would give us resources at our disposal, and a somewhat official movement backing.

 

Please, and I repeat PLEASE, if you are not interested in law reform, then there is little use for you to read this thread.

IMO

Canada set the precedant

medicinal is the first step

we need the general public on side

and most of all we need pollies on side

so

organize positive direct actions to support cannabis law reform

rage pon all fronts is a must

 

ie crucial grass roots activism---> Talk-back radio, letters to the papers and local and feb pollies

dowit everyday and inspire others to go so

 

be there.... stand up for your rights and be counted, numbers are crucial at

gigs and rallies like ---> Annual Nimbin MardiGrass Cannabis Law Reform Rally 1st week-end in may till cannabis is legal (over 10,000 ppl come every year for the past 15yrs)

and we should link in with this and have national actions and rallys pon the same days everywhere in oz

the Millionman march was inspired by and is co-ordinated to run at the same time internationally as Nimbin MardiGrass

so lets build pon that too

 

also IMO

every town/suburb needs 1

start

a herbal dispencary shop run by a herblist who is licenced to make and sell herbal ointments and tinchures

and a nathropath to prescribe herbal treatments for various ailments

cannabis is a clear winner here

you cant smoke cannabis ointment. it is strictly medicinal cannabis

yet this can and does cure Breast Cancer, staf infections, chronic pain, awwrr the list go on and on and on

so there is no end to the reliefe we could bring to suffers of most common ailments and then some.

we could give a reciept to the growers so if they get busted we can support them in court

after all they are growing Medicinal cannabis

unity is strength

bring matters to the public eye

humour rulez the media

if they are nonviolent and funny

you got a great chance

 

like writing you own licence to deal with cannabis and challange the courts to refute it especialy if you are a glucoma suffer and can prove you will go blind without the only scientiffically proven cure -->Cannabis

 

the courts cannot change the law

but can win favour of the general public there

so its back to parliment and pollitriction to achieve this goal of Cannabis Law Reform

 

there are so many things we can and must do

 

eg

an activist in England put hundreds of cannabis seeds in hundreds of balloons and let them go pon the steps of parliment

very creative and captured the media's attention positive style

 

there is so many creative ways to deal with direct actions

Something interesting i came across that could be used in canada on numerous grounds to at least get medicinal legalised is their human rights charter.

 

Im not in Vic so not much use to me... but i think it could be a step in the right direction
