Moving house

Hi all,

 

I got a problem.... and before you ask it has nothing to do with any sexual diseases!

 

I'm gunna be moving house soon and I've got to think of the best way to go about it from a growers perspective.

My 9 plants are still in veg and will probably be about 1ft by the time I have move. I have thought about taking clones from each plant and then flowering them to determine sex and then pulling them, that way I just have all female clones to start with from scratch once I'm settled. I haven't had a joint for months and I think it would bring tears to my eyes to have to kill 'em.

 

I think the main problems are smell (as they are starting to stink even in veg) and the fact that we are going to have friends helping us move and I really don't want anyone else knowing about my grow (loose lips 'n' all that).

 

I'd be intrested to know if anyone else has any expirience with moving while having a crop on the go, if so, how did you get around it?

what about hiding them for everyone, even without the lamps, somewhre where they just don't die so you can move them bij yourself after the friends have helped you? See buster, when you pull them you can be sure they die but if they are stressed only you can recover them and even if they turn into hermies you'll have at least some result.

They are still young and in veg so they will survive some rough treatment, pack them into cardboard boxes and move them at night or early morning when your friends are not around and transport them yourself, set them up at the other place, either in the garden or under lights (run the lights at night). At this stage you are only trying to keep them alive for a day or two, not grow them, get them into a grow room as soon as possible and they will pick up ok within a few days.

I'll get some boxes and do what Tom said I think, I will get some CF bulbs too, that way I can set them up in veg at the new place without having to get the HPS set up.

Good thinking, less worries about light leakage till you get set-up.

How many CF bulbs (at say 18 watts each) would I need to keep them going ok during the move and perhaps for a future veg room?

 

I was thinking about gettting some old desk lamps from the salvos and butchering them rather than buying all new fittings from hardware stores..

I was going to use them at first just to keep the 9 plants alive while I move with the possiblity of setting up a small mother/clone room similar to the one you have in a fridge.

 

I looked at the link in your sig and (correct me if im wrong) you said you use 1 for a mum and add another when cloning?
