please need some help

hi, i am 5 weeks into flowering my white rhino in nft and ive got leaf tip burn. right i set the res at 1.0 ec using canna aqua next day ec went down to 0.9 ec. so you would think they are hungry right. anyways i still getting leaf tip burn ,so yesterday i downed the ec to 0.7 and today ec hasent move still 0.7 but leaf tip burn is still coming and some leafs have twisted, since the start of the grow i have flush with PH 5.8 RO water for 2 days at a time so i no its not salt build up. surely i cannot bring my ec down anymore 0.7 at 5 weeks into flowering and still leaf burn ? i just dont get it. apart from the burn the buds are really big and fat and smells real fine.i just dont wont to lose them as im so near the end now.

i am thinking about lowering the ec again what do you think i should do ?

sound nice fat ass buds , i wouldn't worry to much about tip burn if ya have good looking buds ...

 

i'd up the nutes and flog them till there done , but thats me ..

thanks everest, have you ever had my problem before ? i mean have you ever had a plant that dont like alot of nutes. the start of the grow i set the ec at 1.0 using canna aqua veg and all was good, i hit 1.4 ec then i change over to flower nutes and put it in at ec 1.4 and they did not like it one bit,showed signs of burns strait away.

 

has anyone else had the EC under 1.0 in flowering before and still getting burns ?

could your lights be too low by any chance? just a thought....

yes my lights are a little close, i have bent the beasts over and tide them up.but the leaf tip burns is all over the plants not just at the top,even where there is not much light, i put my hand there and feel for heat and its cool.

by the way this is my first hydro grow i did,nt relize how fast and big they would grow with water garden, but hey i do now , next grow im gonna put them into flower as soon as they have roots, this time i only veg for 1 week and got them over 2 foot and they out grew my space, all i can say is WOW, if anyone would like to see my flowers i could upload

Personally I am of ev's school of thought cause I don't grow for nice looking leaves...but thw WR can take 10+ weeks can't it?

So maybe a bit soon to not care entirely?

 

Have you checked your probe/truncheon?

 

Are you using different flower nutes to vege?

 

The tip burn showing now is from it being too strong in the near past - like a week or so, I don't see any burn showing up overnight when it happens to me.

 

Are you using additives as well? They can up the levels for an hour or two after adding IME - although I've not seen anyone else complain of this?

 

Remember to add the additives first - then the nutes - then the ph.

 

Plants look mad - well done!

i just had a problem with water temps in dwc , whats your's like ? maybe you have to prepare your water , like let it areate for 24 hours , couple of air stones do the job .. perhaps try let the ph slip out to 6.0 for a few days , some strains differ ..

hi thanks for comments, i check my ph meter every week and its right on the money.i use ro water thats has stand for 24 hours.i have not added anything ealse to my feed yet. i got some canna pk 13/14 but im to scared to use it at the moment just incase i kill them with it.having leaf burn i dont wont to give them nothing ealse untill i find out whats the problem with the leaf burns ,i feed them canna veg nutes when growing and now im feeding them canna flowering nutes, so im just using canna nutes.

the roots all look really nice and white and i cannot smell the roots atall so i think thats not the problem. i have 2 air stones in eatch res bubbling away.i set my PH at 5.8 and let it go up to 6.4 before i bring it back down.i have real good air flow in the grow room.

i have just changed all res with fresh ro water set to ph 5.8 and ec of 0.3 canna flowering nutes. so im going to let that run for a couple of days to flush thing. then i will try and give them nutes at 1.0 ec again and see how it go's. i will let you no if this clears up my problem or not.

so if i over feed my plants i will see that in about 1 week time ? not the same day or the next day ?

hi, i sorted my problem with the tip burn. as low as it may sound my plants are looking great now with an EC of 0.7. the buds are packing it on now. i set EC 0.7 4 days ago and it has stayed at 0.7 for last 5 days with the water going down and ph going up very slowly.i am going to run plain water for 2 days now and then im going to set it back to 0.7 EC & PH 5.8 untill the final week then change back to plain water for that last 5 days or so. dose this sound right ??
