growing slow in my growbox sucks

My plant is growing really slow in my 6ftx3ftx3ft growbox with a 250watt mh light and two 120mm sunon fans for intake and outake.

The plant is 360mm tall at 15 weeks old.For the first 10 weeks i had a 250watt hps(red spectrum) light in there but swapped to a 250watt mh light(blue spectrum).

I tipped it at about 12 weeks and now there are a few bud hairs growing out from the very top.At this stage i would have thought

it would be around at least 900mm tall. Why is it growing sooo slow?My ph level is about 5 and i cant seem to change it.I have tried

sulfer or lime(cant remember right now which one raises the ph)and it just doesnt change.I am using straight potting mix that has

a lot of smallish bark bits in it and mabee the roots are having trouble getting around them. The highest the temp gets when the

light is on is about 40degrees and when light is off its about 30degrees because the grow box is in my small backyard shed and it

is very hot outside.

Now there are very small critters (dont know what they are)that are only just around where the stem goes into the soil and have been picking them out but they are still there. How should i get rid of them?WHY IS MY BABY GROWING SO SLOW???

sounds like your soil is whats holding u up change to coco or hydroponic you'll have a 900mm plant in 8 weeks it could possable be your low PH i dont grow in soil but i think soil PH should be around 7 so try something maybe try feeding the plant hydroponic nutrients this is what i use to do when i grew in soil its the only way i would feed also you'll be able to control the PH of the nutrient solution that goes into your soil

WHY IS MY BABY GROWING SO SLOW???
Your PH is way too low and is not allowing the plants to get much in the way of food, I would find a potting mix with a PH of 7.0 - 7.2, add around 30% - 40% perlite and re-pot them into that.

Now there are very small critters (dont know what they are)that are only just around where the stem goes into the soil and have been picking them out but they are still there.
Take a few into the local plant nursery, get them identified and use the appropriate spray or preditor bug to wipe them out. If they ask what plant they are on just tell them that it's for your gran or the old bloke a couple of doors down from you and you can't remember or forgot to ask.

Just to make your day worse....your temps are woeful and those fans won't cut it for a shed exposed to sunlight.

Temps ideally should be between 20-30C and your tiny fans will have a lot to do with that.

If the shed is sucking in warm fresh air then it might be too warm adding to your dramas when it combines with the radiant heat thrown from the bulb and a tiny exhaust fan.

KTM, aside from Tom's note about pH being too low and JJ's comment about the air temps being way too high, you should have used the MH to veg and the HPS to flower.

However, HPS can do a good job with vegging once you get the pH & air temps in line. I have used HPS to veg my mums for years, but the red-yellow spectrum of HPS does cause some elongation. Not a problem for me- I want tall mums from which to take tall cuttings for my SoG op. Your mileage may vary.

Excessive heat, as you have, is also a cause of stretchy plants. Excessively high temps will also cause buds to 'run' or elongate as well. You'll tend to get fluffy buds instead of tight, dense nugs. Gotta get those temps down. The ideal range is about 24-26C. Running a cooltube on your light is probably the most effective solution in your situation.

Thanks to all who replied, this site is the best and i always get the answeres i need.Anyway,

yes i know the temps are way to high but i cant do much about it as these fans are to loud

as it is as my shed is only a small shed in my backyard and is in a corner against the fence

next to two neiboures and if i stand next to the shed i can hear the fans going.

I have a

fan speed controller connected to the intake fan that cuts the noise down a bit.

I know i need a big centrifugal fan but they are way to expensive to buy in my situation

as i am only growing one plant at a time for personal use.Does anyone know where i can

get a centrifugal fan for about $100?

I used the hps first as thats the only light i had untill i could afford to buy a mh light kit.

Also, can someone tell me how rais my ph?I have tried but it doent seem to work.My ph test kit is the one with the red dye, white powder and a color chart.
