Hi everyone

Hi. Well i am new to this site so please be patient . I have a few questions so anyone that can answer them for me I would greatly appreciate it. I have not gotten stoned since Jr. High (many moons ago). I have had more neck surgeries then I care to admit. I have a chronic acute pain in the occipital region , I have been on EVERY pain med out there and am allergic to most. My hospital had to go thru Administation and AMA to get me IV dermeral just to keep the pain at bay. I have a family and being on narcotics leaves me in a daze and unable to function or drive. I am now scheduled to go into pain mangement and was told that I could get a morphine patch or something like that to help with pain. Since I am a Medical student that is not going to be an option. My weekly routines are usually accupuncture, deep tissue, rolfing, chiropractic, muscle relaxers, pain meds and sleep aids but since my liver enzymes are not good I was told that I needed to try and hold back on the pain meds, and meds in general. Okay that leaves me with dry heaving, nausea and vomiting, bloody noses (because the headaches are so severe), and crying. I get to lay in bed and not move , since I have a family I am helpless , so i decided to bite the bullett and smoked. After about 20-30 mins i felt great, my pain was bearable and the nausea and vomiting subsided. I woke up the next morning and my head was not hurting and I was able to look down and side to side without wanting to passout. I am going to see about the qualifying for medicinal ID card but AZ is a real stickler about them. But at this point i really do noyt give a crap. It has been almost 2 weeks since I had to take a pain pill or muscle relaxer. I have not felt this good in I cannot remember. I was wondering what the best medicinal seeds would be. The stuff I have now makes me really happy, laughy and totally relaxed. It is SO awesome to laugh and not have a bleeding nose from pain or a headache. I do not mean to go on and on but it has been SOOOOOOOOOOOO long since I have been able to do simple tasks like drive or look down to read a book or type this letter. many seed types have been tossed my way Light of Jah, Orange or Purple Kush, White Widow,an d the Super Nova, which i was informed tht it was the BESt for medicinal purposes. Also since I will be growing my own is hydrphonic the way to go. any advice is welcome lol

Welcome here nomorepain lol ... faaark man that was painful just reading about your condition! and makes me realise how fortunate iam .. whilst cannabis is far from a cure all it does have applications which greatly help ppl 'grin and bear it ' ... its so good to hear that it has offered you some kind of respite ...

I think you are going to have to go by trial and error when it comes to finding a strain that helps you , seems everyone is different in the pain management dept.

hydro is a most suitable method of indoor growing for sure but it can be done in soil also, your best bet is reading up on the basics of growing in our forums and then coming back and give us your questions ...

welcome to ozstoners :P

goodluck getting your medicinal card, by the sounds of things you really deserve one :/ but even if you dont get one, dont let it put you off growing your own. you have just discovered a natural herb that can replace most of your medication and it is extremely cheap to grow your own :D seriously after all is said and done, you can literally grow ounces for less than $20 which if you compare to the street prices that can go for $250-400 for a single ounce, you'll not only save money, you'll be getting medicine that helps your conditions with far less side effects than what you can get from the pharmacuticals you are currently on :(

but here comes the hard part which is finding strains that suit your conditions :D no-one can tell you what to get as everyone is different and with your conditions you will find that while one strain will work wonders, others will only get you stoned :( you'll have to grow many strains to find the ones that suit you the best which believe me can be a lengthy and painstaking process, i myself have gone through about 40 odd strains in 5 years and will be sprouting another dozen or so over the next day or two :( tolerance levels are also another thing to consider so you'll probably end up needing to grow a few simular strains that treat your conditions. that way when your tolerance levels are too high with one strain you can switch to another and let the tolerance for the previous strain drop away :)

but honestly all i can advise you to do is aim for strains that are known to be extremely potent because the less you smoke, the less damage gets done to your body. dont believe any of the hype of super weed, the higher the potency of a strain just means you have to smoke less of it to get the desired effects. you should also use a vapourisor to eliminate the negative side effects that come with smoking cannabis, but there have been some studies that show smoking marijuana is actually a more efficient way of consuming the drug so i recommend doing what works best for you :P
