stability? is it available in seed form

Recommended Posts

Stable = Inbred = Lack of vigour.

I like hybrids or something that hasn't been inbred too much because you get more vigour and faster growth.

Also with hybrids there will be a few different phonotypes to choose from.

Not everyone wants the same phenotype.

For example one might be a shorter plant with chunkier buds. If I was growing indoors that's probably the one I would keep as long as it had vigour and lots of resin.

One might be taller and have a bit more sativa in it.

For growing outdoors I might want to keep that one; the height wont matter outdoors and I prefer a more sativa smoke.

(wont smoke heavy indica - that's not what pots supposed to be about IMO.)

In my experience you will usually find a pheno that suits you in every pack. (sometimes none of them suit and they all get "discontinued".)

Personally I like to have a choice of the different pheno's.

I personally don't need all the plants to be identical; I grow the seeds out and see how each plant turns out and then pick the one that I want to keep and then clone from it; then I will have as many identical plants as I want.

I have never had any plants from seeds I bought vary that much between each plant, and that's both cheap Nirvana seeds and top of the range DJ Short.

Viva la Difference!

im sick of the lucky dip

i just want to know wat im getting without suprises

I just threw away about 30 True Blueberry clones; they were more accurately plants I suppose, about 40 cm high.

If I could send them as an attachment to a personal message I would have sent them your way.

I just sort of went clone crazy a while back and then suddenly I had all these plants that were making me nervous; it was ok when they were just little twigs in rockwool cubes but when it became a jungle in there I started getting worried.

I was going to plant them out in my guerrilla spot but then I thought what the hell, it's way too early to start the outdoor grow. I usually plant outdoors middle of summer; saves less overall trips to water and also less time for the plants to be outdoors with the risk of discovery. I bank on the fact that if someone finds my patch say November then because theres nothing growing there they think that it's an old abandoned patch and so they don't bother coming back.

I also bank on the fact that once the weather gets hot there's less chance of people wandering around in the bush and so less chance they may stumble on my patch.

If you want a pretty much guaranteed result from seed then I would go for Skunk #1 from Dutch Passion or Northern Lights from KC Brains.

Oldies but goodies.

Skunk was my mainstay for years and everyone raved over it.

In fact I'm going to re-order this strain in the not too distant future; it performed better than some of the more expensive and supposedly cutting edge strains that I bought since, such as Blubonic, Hash Plant from Sensi, Belladonna, and some others.

I think the golden rule is that when you find that keeper plant then keep in and clone it.

ps. Get to know your local hydro shop owner. I know some of them sell clones. lol

Just harvested my 4 Calizahr, from Chimera.

Good yield but a distinct lack of resin.

I was surprised as it's pedigree looked good on paper; the famous California Orange clone crossed with a Shishkaberry Red.

Just can't tell sometimes.

I was so disgusted that I went and pulled up the rest of them, the other 12 Calizahr that I had just started and which were about 60 cm high.

I'm not going to waste my time growing plants that I know will not turn out any good.

On a brighter note the Sweet Tooth 1.1 that I have going are looking very good.

Very resiny and looks like they will yield very well.

Lovely smell; like grapefruit.

I think this one will be the mainstay of my growing.
