Arnie says marijuana 'not a drug'

Recommended Posts

In a coldly technical sense, Arnie's right- cannabis is not a drug. THC is a drug.

You can just feel the Peter Garrett sort of party political hypocrisy in Ah-nolt's comment regarding cannabis not being a drug, considering it was only on 20 July that he vetoed California SB1494, a bill which would have removed any limit on the amount of medicinal cannabis one could possess under Prop 215.

To bad he can't ever be president. Have to be a natural born American for that....Unless they change the law, sneak it in on the tail end of some obscure bill like they usually do.

It'd be a bit more complex than merely attaching a rider to some bill to allow a person not born in the US to become president.

The specification restricting non-US born people from becoming prez is part of the US Constitution (Article 2, Sec 1). Changing that limitation would require a constitutional amendment, which would then have to be ratified by 3/4 of the states' voters or be approved by a 2/3 majority in Congress.

You make a really good point Jojo. But if Arnie decides he is going to do something, he does it, even down to marrying a Kennedy!

As far as the "rules of government" here, well it didn't matter who we voted for, we got who "they" wanted, Bush.

The feds care little about what the constitutions says...liberty and pursuit of happiness went down the shitter with the first act of prohibition

It's all a big smokescreen. If the "government" wants Arnie as president, then that's who we'll get, and it doesn't matter what we say, or what the old piece of paper says.

But I was being sarcastic in my last post. I did manage to get straight A's in my Constitutional Law classes. Anyone not blindly patriotic knows that there are too many ways for the US government to just take all freedoms away at a whim. They can even take the land from you through emminent domain.... They can do as they please while most of the American sheeple think they have some kind of control...because they vote!

I have no sentemental patriotic feelings, about this country, it's being run by worse criminals than anyone realizes.

I don't think Arnie will be allowed to be president, simply because too many of our kind like him. Honestly he probably wouldn't be bad, but then compared to Bush, Satan in drag would be an improvement!

OK lets get this in context with todays latest news from BBC ..

Schwarzenegger speaks on drug use

California governor and former film star Arnold Schwarzenegger has told a magazine that marijuana is not a drug.

However, the governor's spokesman later told the Associated Press that the comments had been taken out of context.

Aaron McLear said the star of Terminator had been speaking in a light-hearted way.

"Of course the governor understands marijuana is a drug. It's like when he goes on Leno or the Daily Show, if you took something like that out of context, it might seem shocking but it was in a silly entertainment context," he added.

Schwarzenegger admitted that he has "behaved badly sometimes" and apologized, but also stated that "a lot of (what) you see in the stories is not true." This came after an interview in adult magazine Oui from 1977 surfaced, in which Schwarzenegger discussed attending sexual orgies and indulging in drugs like marijuana. Schwarzenegger is shown smoking a marijuana joint after winning Mr. Olympia in the 1975 documentary film Pumping Iron.
