One thing for sure, no one makes the amount of dough off weed that the cops claim. In Aus, the standard figure of late that cops give to the press is $3000 per plant, regardless of the size or condition of the plant. I shake my head a lot when I see news items claiming the few hundred (probably small) plants in some poor sod's basement are worth millions. I often wonder if some newbs get sucked into growing thinking they are going to become millionaires, based on ideas they get from 'cop prices' as published in news items.

 

Some growing styles, like Sea of Green, employ a large number of intentionally small plants. This method is intended to grow only the top cola of a naturally grown plant. SoG leverages the limited foliar penetration of artificial lighting, which is about 35-40" for a 1000W HPS. Tall plants are not the indoor grower's friend. However, with blanket claims by LEO about plant counts and laws specifying greater penalties for high plant counts, SoG is not the indoor grower's friend, either... if you get caught.

 

I worked out once that buds cost me about $17-21 per oz, inclusive of power, water, nutes and my time. Haven't worked it out with the cost of growing hardware (i.e. lights, flood trays etc) divided over the life of the hardware.

 

The biggest value in growing your own is total avoidance of the War On Drugs and the prices charged by those assuming the risk to grow and sell it.

It's feesable, but i dunno weather i'd recommend it,

I rolled a typical 3 paper scoob the other day that prolly had about 3grams in it. If ya think about, you only need to roll up 10 of em 'n arc one up every 2 hours.

 

Ya lungs prolly feel like you've been run over by a steam roller afterwards, but it would be achievable.

It's definitely possible to smoke up an oz in a day... ever seen a real Jamaican rastaman smoking a spliff? Easily 1/4-1/3 oz in a proper spliff. However, there's a lot of wastage in a spliff. When you have an endless supply of weed and a couple dozen mates to share it with, you won't care, though.

Im not too clued up on how much weed is worth. This is what i think i know, am i correct?

Thats all i buy, and i think thats about how much i get, i don't weigh it thou.

I also gift my purchaser regularly with absinthe, red wine and chocolates - but that saves me so much shit! I used to grow one plant a year and was simply very lucky with the quality seeds fate threw me. One day soon I hope to grow, harvest, cure and enjoy again - because properly understood the whole process is an intensely spiritual one.

I agree about gardening being intensely spiritual, I think that's why I stick with soil. It is so deeply rewarding, calming and yet invigorating at the same time.

In Adelaide ounces cost between $180 and $210 depending on the time of the year. Here there is no variation in price depending on the quality of the buds, shit stuff seems to sell for the same amount as the best buds. This sounds crazy and i hate it because it doesn't encorage local growers to improve the quality of their crop, all they care about is weight, hence the abudance of P.G.R effected buds that weigh like lead but are shit for smoking.

Yeah , All I ever hear about is how this pot that came out of SA , like its the best shit ever , but all I ever see are hard , heavy buds that do fuckall SA is slowly becoming known for its shit buds , at least here in NSW
