Outdoor newb Q's

just let me say long time lurker and this should have been my first post..don't know about the others. Sorry for the hassles but any info will be greatly appreciated.

My sister and I are wanting to grow a plant outside (first grow) and was just hoping for info and tips on things such as a good beginners strain and who you would personally recommend to order seeds from etc. Also, I was wondering if there's a FAQ or something similar for an outdoor grow, or would it not differ much from an indoor one? Just for things like nutrients and stuff like that. Again sorry for the noobiness and all help is appreciated.

Gooday , welcome here qube .. no worries on the info part , if everyone gives a little advice you will have a good idea

 

errmm ... outdoors soil is important and you must 1st decide wether you grow ina pot or the ground, plant size has a correlation to root mass / size so in the pot plant will grow only so big, but its portable ina pot .. in the ground it can grow 10+ft no probs ..

and hours of direct sunlight that the plant gets is pretty important .... cannabis literaly cant get enough sunlight its a hog for light

 

should warn ya that growing is very addictive, but great fun

i would go to planetskunk for seeds, as for a strain pick something 50/50 or closer to the sativa side of things and aim for a strain that sounds perfect for what you are after wether it be potency, taste, yield, etc.

 

as im an indoor coco grower im not going to be of much more help, but there are plenty of outdoor gardeners on this site so just wait and you'll get a stack of really well answered replies unlike mine

Check this out for easy reference, it's not the best copy of The Marijuana Growers Guide, but it's got the info. Just be aware that it's written in North America, so seasons and such will be arse-about-face if you're down here in the land of oz.

 

You'll need to give us a better picture of your situation for us to help you properly, like are you gonna grow in your backyard or out in the bush?

Do you want to keep your weed cheap and organic or do you want to do whatever it takes to grow huge hard rods?

Do have a green thumb or is this your first attempt at growing anything?

Are your neighbours likely to dob you in or steal your pot ?

Is your sister a conemonster who smokes an oz a week(you may need more than 1 plant )?

Thanks all for the warm welcomes and quick replies.

I will be hopefully growing in my backyard.

I would like it maybe organic, but if there's anything I can do that gives me better yield for not much price/effort then that's always a big plus.

I personally am not very green thumbed, but I am definitely willing to become for this grow, but both my parents are recreational gardeners I guess you could say.

I have a lesbian couple on one side of us and a gay couple on the other side. The lesbians I can see dobbing us in but they don't peer over the fence or anything like that, so long as there's nothing suss no trouble should be had. The gays I'm not so sure about don't know their stance on the subject etc but they water their plants everyday with sprinklers and hoses, so much so that it puddles into our garden under the fence.

My sister isn't exactly a conemonster, she does smoke a fair bit, but nothing compared to most if not all of the people on here, and I'm even less.

We would just like some plants for cost benefits and so we don't fuel the illegal drug trade any more so than it already is. I was hoping to grow 1 plant at a time and then some clones, but I'd be worried if it came out male as then I'd have to start the process all over again.
