roots in dwc ...

i'm thinking about trimming the roots in the dwc pot ... in order to cope with the summer root zone temps .

 

should i ? could i ? would ya ?

 

i know they don't mind a trim in the soil but .. water ?

 

any input would be great

i couldnt imagine it hurting them too much.. most are just hair roots anyway if youre growing clones... id prune them the same as i would prune anything else.. always cut back to something.. like find a new root branching off.. and cut the older thicker root off...

 

so yeah.. i wouldnt think it would harm them.. of course a better option would be to not veg as long so the root system doesnt go insane...

 

but really i think youll find in DWC.. they should recover very quickly if you damage them too much.. altho i wouldnt want to be trimming roots while the plant is flowering...

how's it gunna help the rootzone temp? trimming to beat the heat it dont really make sense to me...

 

you can trim the roots no worries though, i've done it on many occasions but just make sure you take a corresponding amount of plant matter as well.

i thought it would be easy to keep the water free running in the bottom tub , meaning less root more circulation ...

think i'll just trim a bit off the top then a bit off the bottom ...
