each to their own i say.. i dont bother mainly cuz its almost near impossible to get in there to do.. but i usually run the bottoms through my bubblebags.. turns out wikid..

but if you can it is good to keep the under canopy clear to allow maximum airflow.. just dont go trimming too much out.. you could be taking potential yield

Doing a couple of branches here and there as you go along helps to keep the work to a minimum. Make sure you leave about 3-5cm of branch from the main stem so that it heals well and doesn't allow pathogens into the stem too easily. A bit of wettable sulphur can help in humid areas to keep infections down to a minimum, but usually isn't an issue provided your cutters are clean.

To each their own really. Maybe you can experiment a bit and do it to one plant and not another, and see how you do. :D

cool, thanks guys, i was reading about pruning and it said cutting cause's hormones to focus on healing areas so i was worried about doing this. But i think the thing i was reading was referring to heavy pruning to train the plant. Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Last harvest was a bear to trim all the popcorn buds. I hated it.

here's a few pics of me butchering the undergrowth of my girls, they take no time to recover as you are not touching any of the main stems, and yes it does promote stronger growth after all the rubbish is removed. but in saying that i too sometimes let it grow if i want to make some bubble hash or oil.
