Tops of colas always popcorn after week 6 flower

Well as the title and description says. Any ideas why this happens?

For as long as i can remember this always happens to me.

I get 5 or 6 buds grow out of the top of the main colas.

Its like it goes into a sort of stretch stage. Where it then has to fill out again.

Sorry about the bad quality pic doesnt show much.

 

Here is a pick of my last grow you can see the buds growing out of the main cola head.

 

Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. as long as i let the buds "fill out" it is ussually ok i think.

Any suggestions why it does this ?

If this always happens its probably just the genetics of the plant. Doesnt look like a negative thing to me, looks like more bud. Is the bud texture any different to the buds on the rest of the plant?. Not all plants produce nice long smooth colas. Sometimes the buds poke out all ways and places.

No there is no difference in the texture or the way it smokes/tastes.

As for strain im a little unsure of it. What i do know is that both pics are different strains i just dont know which ones.

Here is a pic of one i grew a couple a years ago. You can see how the tip has done a stretch. The lower buds remain compact its only the very tip that has a fit.

had a few like that in my last grow too buddy.g, maybe just very close or over the end of their flowering period, its like a regrowth sort of thing starts happening. i just tipped em off mine and the buds bulked up a little more.

looks good duuude.... check grow room for pin holes maybe. could be plant genetics. next time whack a control plant in of a different strain

I have had the same thing happen to me as well and with diffrent strains, it only seems to happen when getting close to harvest time.

i just tipped em off mine and the buds bulked up a little more.

its just an elongation.. usually see this with sati/indi mix strains.. its the sativa traits foxtailing... nothing to be stressed about .. you could tip them out.. but its really not necessary...

 

unless of course the timer is fucking up ...

 

but ive had this happen with a few strains... nothing to worry about ..
