Keeping airstones at bottom of Reservoir

Might not be much of an earn in selling stuff thru peeps threads oops sorry "kindly offering stuff that your not using" but it would add up.

Hang on, I've already said- twice- that these bubble curtains are the ones I have used FOR YEARS.

I've also said that they are durable and don't float, which is the topic of this thread.

What's your fuckin' problem, Chato?

Maybe a little bit of transparency, something i think your familiar with given your previous posts on Govt, Law and Media would go a long way...

Right- here's some transparency: billopuffalot has bought a centrif blower (from the same co that made the centrif blower I am presently using in my op) and some duct from me. That's the sum total of my biz activities on OSA.

Got no beef with ya mate, you come across as a pretty cluey bloke but when you start to sound like a hydro shop owner tryin to sell what's in store an in stock rather than recommend the right product it;s a bit lame.

The real fuckin' lame part is people who won't read what I've written but are happy to accuse me up and down of shit I haven't done.

Maybe registering your biz (if it;s not already) an paying to advertise here would do more to alleviate the distrust an spamming issues.

The only distrustful person here is you. Other ppl would like to know how to get some widgets they already use on the cheap. My 'biz,' if you want to call it that, hasn't earned enough to buy me a cup of coffee. It surely hasn't earned enough to pay for advertising. Considering the $60 I paid for 420 Crew membership, my "biz" is running WAY in the red.

My real purpose for encouraging ppl to buy supplies thru me is so I can stay on distributor pricing with my suppliers. I sure don't add the markup that you find in shopfront hydro stores. My suppliers want some minimum purchase levels from me or they were going to put me back on the retail price sheet- and I'm nowhere near what they've asked for so far.

If I was jumping into a thread about camels and trying to sell refrigerators, you might reasonably accuse me of spamming. As it is, a guy was asking about how to keep airstones from floating- and I came up with an airstone that doesn't float.

What IS your problem, man? And let me assure you- it's YOUR problem!

Mmmmmmm this is turning quite nasty me thinks. ;) ^_^ ;)

I have used air stones and those pipe curtains.

In my opinion the air-stones/disc-stones put out way more small/finer bubbles (exactly what we want)hence increased surface area of bubbles compared to the pipe curtains however the stones tend to clog up with crap and cannot be cleaned as easily as the pipes.

To combat having fewer bubbles using the pipe compared to the stones i just added another pipe.

I found that i was replacing my stones every 2nd grow due to excessive build up of crap, but since using the pipes i have never replaced them. ;)

Please don't get nasty with me ;) this is how i found it works best for me.

Good luck with it Cugel, since you already have 4 long stones im sure that will do for now, and no i dont think they will float and move around enough to worry you. ;)

Cheers

Wrong answer, Chato.

Try something like this:

"Gee Al, I'm sorry. I didn't read your posts thoroughly to know that you use these airstones yourself. I regret my mistake."

Then I say:

"Hey, no problem, you only made yourself look like a dill, but that's cool. Thanks for your apology. ;)"

See how easy apologising is when you fuck it up?

I had a similar problem. I tied a clean rock to the hose near the stone and it held down just fine.

The curtains I can get here are just clear plastic with suction cups, and I tied rocks to those too.

After all that I decided to use lava rock in bubblejugs, and the lava rock is perfect as it distributes the bubbles having all those holes in them. It all worked great until just before harvest when I added molasses and caused myself root rot... Live and learn.... :applause:

AL!

You have been here 15 whole days longer than I have, and together we don't total 6 months.

Therefore regardless of the fact of actual age, I think it prudent to show at least some respect for elders here!

I have found that when someone disagrees with you, usually you will simply ignore the person.

If in fact you were misunderstood, all that you had to do was restate what you said in a different way and point out the problem.

Now I've probably got the testosterone roaring in your ears as well, but fuk, fuk fukety fuk fuk is NOT the way to communicate here. It will get you nowhere fast.

While you do have a great wealth of knowledge to share, and have helped so many in your short time at the site... you aren't the only authority. and it would be much appreciated if you would kindly lose the attitude that what you say is carved in stone... and share with the community in the polite, kind and respectful way that is the site's mission.
