Coming Up To End Of Week 6 Flower

Im sure it was another site that i read about this,. but i would like to know if anyone here has heard about doing this.

Some people were using grow nutes the week before final flush/rinse of the root/medium system to reduce the amount of phosphorus (i think thats the name ) being consumed by the plant. (Nasty stuff for us apparently)

I think this is an effort for a better quality smoke.

Normaly i would use flower nutes & flush with straight water for 10 days or so.

For the 10 days prior to that should i use just grow nutes or should i use flower nutes?

I have posted nearly the same question on this other site ive been lookin at but no answers yet.

Lookin for some advice.

Hi Everest , It wouldnt be a fair test as i connot compare it against anything.(Only one on the go an never the same strain )

All i have are other peps experiance to go by at the moment.

The plant uses and converts the elements in a nutrient formula into a useable energy like sugars and starches, chlorophil etc ...

the idea of providing growth nutes during flower stage is nuts to me ... unless you have nothing else to feed it ... probably promotes leafy buds too

 

sure the finished plant matter is going to have tiny micro ammounts of NPK and about a dozen other elements but thats the same with any plant/vegetable, but its not like they build up levels to harmful or toxicicity in normal hydroponic environment

 

do your final flush of water for a week or whatever and thats just personal preference , but forget the grow nutes IMO ...

IMO stick with what you normally do buddy.g.. Plant dont need nitrogen in the last week or 2..

Ok i will sit tight with what i no for now, its always worked in the past.

Its just that i get that bug sayin theres something else i could be doin to improve always improve.

i use flower nutes till bout 4/5 days before i want to harvest and then go ph'd water for 4/5 days and my result couldnt be better. anyone who has tried my hydro says its not like the commercial you get around. these people are devout bush smokers that cant smoke hydro without having side affects from the metals in unflushed mj and they love my buds. that speaks for itself i think.

Hi Sunnycoaster, I too have had complements like you about the quality of my smoke. Compared to a mate who has identical system and nutes except i flush religously and he uses nutes up to the day he cuts. Same yeilds and looks identical but its all in the taste,(And after taste i think).

 

If only flush for 4 -5 days do your fan leaves start to yellow?

I last flushed for 10 days and still only just start to get yellow then still very lush and green after 10 days.?

hey there buddy

 

i use flower nutes from day 1 of flower all the way untill 4-5 days befor harvest you should not use veg nutes during flower as the plant dont need as much nitrogen and other elements

 

now when it comes to flushing in my system i dump the res and then fill with fresh rain water and test the ppm befor i do anything this will show you what the ppm or ec that your water origionally is now switch on ya water system and let it run for a few hours then come back and check the ppm you will see a rise in it mine can get up to about 800ppm sometimes

 

now dump that water and refill and do the same untill ya ppm gets back to about what you start off with mines usually 125ppm once this is done just leave this as your normal water for 3-4 days and your plants will be ready to harvest
