Can i flower a clone with 1 23W CFL to determine Sex?

Recommended Posts

I am going to be growing under 6 T5 high output lights (they use ballasts)

but id like to take a clone off each plant (6 plants in total) root it and force it to flower to determine the sex of the plant it came from so i can destroy the males earlier in the grow.

would 1 23W CFL do the job? (Id only flower 2-3 clones at a time) would it be enough light to get them to show sex?

hey budder

instead of worrying about taking clones why dont you just put ya main plants into 12/12 for a week or so they will show there sex in that time and then you can get rid of any males and then veg for abit longer if you want to

but if ya really wanna do clones then i use 2x 30w fluro tubes and mine usually take 10-14 days to root

Ok, i was just worried about shocking the plants and getting a lower yield or creating hermies.

i might have to flower with my 10'000k T5's how do you think it will go, i want to keep it cheap and i already had these lights, should i get some 2'700k T5's? but im not sure if they sell them that low in kelvin rating.
