Odd Bongs

I'm gonna try and make one like it.  Can you drill through glass with regular drill bits?

when i was younger we used to make glass bongs all the time, and seeing as how we couldn't exactly have gone to our fathers and asked for a glass drill bit we had to improvise...

we would fill the bottle with water and cap the top off (this was just in case the bottle smashed, the water absorbed the breakage) and mark the area we wanted, then wrap the bottle in a towel, and place it between the knees and start to tap it with a philips head screw driver, not too hard though....and after quite a bit of time, you would eventually get close too breaking through and with a gentle tap, you had broken the surface, all that was required then was making the hole big enough for your stem and sealing it off....

a lot of patience was required not to mention a gentle touch, but you could always stop and come back to it...

we turned spirit bottles, beer bottles, greek wine pourers, old moulded glass port bottles, etc into some pretty nice bongs...

anyhow, kids don't try this at home....
