Here is a pic of the growbox i built from plywood.Its a bit bit crooked at the moment but i will just wack some wood under one side to even it up abit.I will be putting the intake fan on the on the bottom right and the exhaust on the top right side.Both fans are 120mm sunon which on the add on ebay(where i got them from)they say they go with a 150mm ducting.Also in pics are the 250w light kit i got from ebay.

Unfortunately, I think that your Odorsok is going to cut the output of the Sunon axial fan very significantly. billopuffalot ran into that problem recently.

 

Put it all together and run the box with no plants in it. If you can't keep the temps down under 26C, change the exhaust fan to a 150mm centrif or 200mm centrif with a 200mm-150mm reducer to suit your 150mm Odorsok.

Ok this is the deal,im growing in a small 10x6ft shed thats in the backyard.And the kind of fan i need for a carbon filter i assume would cost more than im happy with.My question is,is there any way of me getting out of this without spending so much?Im just growing to get some personal smoke,about an ounce or so from one plant.Are the 120mm fans good enough to grow with anyway?Without the odorsok?

The 120mm fans should be just enough for a 250, without the filter.

 

The way to tell for sure if they'll work is to assemble it all and run it. If the interior temp can be held below 26C when the intake air is 26 or below, you're good to go.

Cheers,ill give it a go,ill have to wait till they come in the mail and ill wack em up and test the temp and let you know how its worked.I might leave the carbon filter till later on when they get smelly.What are some good sites in aus that i can get a centrifugal fan from?There are none on ebay and there are no hydro shops near where i live. Coolio. If you don't have a thermometer/hygrometer with a peak memory function, put it on your shopping list. It's a required tool in any grow- and you need one especially during your testing. If you have trouble finding one under about $25 (I usually see them closer to $45-50), pop me a PM. I have a few spares, new in box, which I'm not using.

 

You can also test how your box will handle humidity by creatively supporting a bathtowel under the lights, with the corner of the towel dipping in a bucket of water. Water will wick up the towel; your circ fan/s as well as the heat emitted from the light will cause the water to evaporate off the towel. This will simulate the moisture transpiration of a few plants, giving you the oppty to see how the box will perform before you ever crack a bean.

IMHO if you only using that light and you only gonna be growing a plant or 2 and its in ya garage then ya can probably just not use a filter at all

 

or maybe look into a small ozone generator this will fix ya problem of any smell without having to worry about a carbon filter

If that fan Indycar has pictured is a 'Fantech' brand just a word of warning-

they are as loud as buggery, have 2 powering my cool tubes and they are

20 times louder than both my zhiele's and 300mm centrifugal put together.

I now have to box them up with insulation batts and probably buy acoustic

ducting- by the yime I buy all of that shit prolly coulda bought more expensive

fan with better performance and low noise.

my knowledge is largely theoretical at moment...however if u only want 'an ounce or two' for personal smoko..u will only need one plant..esp with 400watts..u could probably grow an ounce easy as with just a 2ft fluro..

 

odour control..perhaps one of those 'tubs' u get from hydro shop..about the size of 500grams of butter..they last 3 months..i think u just open the lid and leave it in yer room..

 

Im buying one of those 'tubs' tommorrow cause i got bubblegum seedlings on day 18 today in a small stealth box inside the house and they starting to smell. I havent used em b4 so I hope they work!!!........man im glad to be growing again!! its so much fun!!
