Is this ready? need help plz :)

It's my first harvest in over 5 years, so im a bit rusty. This stuff looks to be done on a lot of the tops. but underneath on lower branches seem to be plenty of white hairs. A general rule i used to go by is when over half of the hairs are orange, than its ready. This looks mostly orange on top...should i cut the crop, or maybe just take off finished pieces. Im in week 5 1/2 at the moment. I was expecting another week of heavy growth but some looks done!!! What should i do!!!!

 

 

In this pic you can see majority are orange, but the cola hasn't totally filled out like i was hoping. (partly i think because i had to go on vacation and couldn't trim lower branches at the proper time, leaving me with a lot of lower small buds). Look closely (On the left blade of the bottom right hand large fan leaf) and you can see a little bit of powdery mildew that i had been battling with spray.

yeah looks ready to me.. if the bottoms arent quite done.. just take the crowns and leave the bottoms for another week or so.. very fast at only 5.5 weeks... give them a flush so the plant can take up some water.. this will leach what available nutrients are left in the plant and make for a tastier harvest

i'm with billo on this, trichs the way to go

You can buy a microscope from somewhere like toy world for $30 so you can inspect

the trichomes. It really is the only way to tell. I have plenty of orange hairs at 8 weeks

but trichs say they aren't ready. Brushing up against the plants while working in your room

will send hairs orange/brown, plus the buds have not really filled out a lot, so it may be worth

the investment to double check. Get a microscope with magnification of 100x

thanks for the replies. I know that the hair method was a rough estimate, but obviously the trichs are the way to go. I have a magnifying glass, but its too crappy to even see up close. Ill have to invest in something a little more powerful.
