flowering troubles

Recommended Posts

Hi team,

I am 3.5 weeks into flowering. Indoor, SCROG, Celtic Stone, Auto-pot hydro, dutch master nutes, 400w hps, 250w MH.

All was going well till about a week ago. I thought I burnt some foliage, and I probably did, but I got on it quick and moved the lights further away. I thought this would solve the issue. It did not.

The weird thing is that only the plants nearest the HPS seem to be affected. The plant near MH looks fine. This would indicated to me nutes / ph are ok.... ;)

Besides the different light source, I was probably much heavier with the fan leaf pruning on these plants as I got a male in the MH side and pulled it so there was a lot of extra space so no need to prune. ANyway the plants or buds are not growing and leaves slowly dying.... :greedy:

Here is a pic of some leaves I pulled. ANy ideas?? Thanks for your help!

thanks for the reply sukonmi....

THe medium is perlite and both set of plants are hooked to the same auto pot reservoir. SO I do not water as such....the base below the perlite fills, then empties then fills.

The ph is 6.5 I have been pretty good controlling the ph. As for PPMs I have no clue. All I usually do is add the flowering nutes per the instructions in the bottle...for dutch master 50 ml of A and B per 10 l.

I was wondering if removing too many fan leaves could lead to nutrient deficiency?? My thinking being the plant sucks back the nutes from fan leaves during flower and the fans die off.

I use dutch master nutes... I use around 350ml per 15 liters to get the PPm's at around 16-1800... i use rainwater which reads at around 50ppm...

how every looking at the shot of the room... looks a lot more serious than i first thought.. yes a defficiency looks like its the problem... but even at 50ml A+B in 10 liters should have them looking semi healthy..

have you sprayed anything on them? are you foliar feeding?...

What do the roots look like.. nice and white... or brown and dirty?.. can you tell? do you have airators in the autopots.. could the water be stagnating?

Nope...I never spray....the problem is certainly getting more serious...spreading.....

I really backed off the lights as I thiought it was light / heat burn. I turned off the HPS for 2 days but it did not seem to help any.

I might try a different brand of nutes after a little flush....other than that....I am clue less.

give them a flush with clean water.. measure the PH and PPMs before and after to see what its reading..

deficiency and toxicity look almost the same... and this problem has certainly been going on for while.. the problem could also be trying all sorts to fix it.. and its making it worse.. its almost like the roots are suffocating.. and not delivering the nutrients the plants need..

theres no need to flush for days.. just pour about 10 liters of clean water through the pot.. measure it before and after so you got some sort of idea... if you dont have a PPM meter.. then id suggest you get one.. its a lot more important than a PH meter.. as youve said.. the PH sits at 6.5... which is pretty normal for DM nutes as they buffer the PH specifically for MJ.. i rarely even use my PH meter.. just to check.. never seem to need to add up or down.. DM nutes a great.. ill swear by them.. so i find it hard to believe its the nutrient.. ive been using it for well over 10 years... ever since they first come out... its good shit..
