I am planning on using 12 2 gal buckets ebb & flow w a 55 gal res. I am putting in a 30sq. ft space with a 1k light, (600hps, 400mh) How many plants would u put per bucket max to utilize precious space the best? Room only like 6.5' high. I am thinking parabolic or vertizontal shade

Do a SoG op with plants in much smaller pots. You can use 8" dia pots instead of 2gal buckets, which are large enough for 2-3 plants like bill said.

If you're restricted on vertical height, SoG will give you short plants which will suit the vertical height you have available. Use your 400 to veg up mothers and the 600 to flower, isolating the veg lighting from the flowering plants, of course. Make up a clonebox with some fluoros and a heatmat.

...vertizontal? That's like going updown a flight of stairs... :D

The current state-of-the-art in reflectors is horizontal tube, double parabolic reflectors like the Accent Adjust-A-Wings.
