Gday everyone I've got a flood & drain system going lately there is green stuff like some kind of algae :xcited:

My grow is on a 18/6 cycle 60lt tubs giving them a drink every 2hrs at 15mins

The EC level is at 1.8 and PH level at 5.8

My rooms 2m high 1.5m wide & 1.6m long i've got 2 exhaust fans one sucking air in & the other sucking it out with a pedastel fan facing the tubs & light

So can anyone tell me why this green looking stuff is appearing

Roy

light, water and nutrients usually result in some sort of algea growing  there are products out there which will stop it growing, dutch master guardian was one of them but it goes by a different name now :xcited: alternatively you can light proof the medium, your res, etc. basically anywhere where light comes into contact with the water and nutrients and it will stop growing

Build a cover for the tub, cover everything from the light and leave just 2 small holes for the plants to grow out of. Do it quick so you don't have to make the holes too big.

The light on the medium is allowing algae to grow, stop the light on the medium and the algae wont be able to grow.

As fas as damage, i have no idea, just be sure to build a light proof cover.

hey there

i run a system very similar to yours and what you need to do is get some panda film and cover your pots and then cut a small hole for the plants to come out of this will limit the algie on the medium

but im thinking you would also have an issue in ya res tank underneith as i can see where the light is getting into it so ya need to wrap a small section of panda around that too and then ya problem should be fixed

if you have an issue already with algie then take out the balls effected and treat with some h202 diluted in water or possible if there aint too much it will die off once ya block the light

cheerz :Dj:
