The Matanuska Thunder strain i have are from Bros Grimm collection. Billo all the female plants were identical in every way as far as i could determine. Here is the write up that the Bros Grimm posted when they were available, from memory i paid around $300 aus for each pack

 

MATANUSKA THUNDER

 

The Brothers Grimm are happy to offer this mysterious strain after receiving numerous requests. BG began with a clone obtained from an Alaskan biker who has been growing it for years up north. Mantanuska is a 40/60 Sativa/Indica hybrid, bred for an indoor environment. These plants produce enormous, rock-hard buds with an intensely skunky smell and flavor, not to mention the legendary high.

 

Flowering: 8 weeks

Height: 150 cm.

Yield: up to 2 lb/kW

BG's story sounds similar to sags story about acquiring MTF. Tony from sag claims to have received beans from an old contact in Alaska. According to this contact, there are about 7 or 8 different versions(all similar) of MTF that are grown by different clans in different regions in Alaska..

We have no doubt what-so-ever that our MTF IS the original. We were so confident that we entered it in the Cannabis Cup for the judges to sample. All who tried it were wowed by it and loved it ( see the High times Cannabis cup issue)...not one of the judges had ANY negative comments so far as I know. To my knowledge, all the other seedbanks carry CROSSES made from a cutting/clone that may POSSIBLY have been a cutting of genuine MTF.

Whoever posted about problems with OG Kush have it completely wrong.There have NEVER been any problems with OG Kush. Our OG seeds produce what is a virtual clone of the original.

 

We HAVE had some teething problems with Bubba Kush. Our first version of Bubba Kush was very, very close to the original cutting/clone. Growers who bought those were delighted with the results, though we felt we'd have liked it to be even closer to the original, so kept working on it to make it virtually an EXACT copy of the clone. We now have the Bubba so that it is in fact a virtual copy of the clone but are having some germination issues. Only about 50-70% of the seeds are viable at this point, so were trying to fix the problem. Until it is fixed, we will include extra seeds in every order to try to make certain our customers get ten good starts from a 10 seed packet.
