Consuming Marijuana During Pregnancy

A friend of mine has recently fallen pregnant and has thus stopped smoking mj.

 

Is there any research down about fetal development and marijuana consumption?

 

 

her partner is thinking of buying a vapouriser for himself so i was wondering if after that arrived would it be near enough to 100% safe for the baby for her to be able to use it?

 

also any information you can give me about marijuana and pregnancy would be much appreciated

 

 

also if enough good information presents itself in this topic can i request it gets pinned cause im pretty sure that this will be a major topic in any real legalization debate.

while it sounds like you have alot of experience in being a parent, what i just quoted sounds like your baby is getting stoned when it breast feeds you start off your post by saying avoid all drugs, but you are forgetting that cannabis truely is a drug, a herb is a flavouring and while cannabis can be considered both, its primary role in society is that of a drug.

 

if you truely believe that the mother should avoid all any and all drugs for the health and well being of the child, that should go up until the child doesnt depend on breast milk what so ever as it will contain thc and alot of other drugs if the mother takes them im sorry if it sounds like im having a go at you over the matter, but if DOCS were to drug test your child i think they would end up calling the police in after taking your child away as they do not look too fondly towards parents of children who unwillingly take drugs unless perscribed by a doctor...thats just the way the world works and i hope i have atleast given you something to think about.

Thank you for your concern, I am well aware of the legal situation, however we will live our lives as we believe our Creator wants us to and not as society dictates. It is clear that the governments of the world do not care about the health of their people and do not even take notice of scientific studies, let alone the many and varied Cultures that,, throughout time have used this Herb for wellness.

I will give you an example, please, verify the things we claim with your own research.

There are many accounts of maternal use of Herb in so many cultures.....It shouldn't take yah to long to become well informed.......That is what we would be telling the courts too, should the need arise.....Jah protect.....My family and I...in righteousness we trust....

Both of us descend from Herbalists....we basically ONLY use Herbs to keep our family healthy....and always have....Ital life is our way...Organic, plant-based diet and medicine....check it in the first page of the courts Bible that all are called to swear on to tell the Truth......

I think we all would agree that marijuana is a truely psychoactive herb/drug ...

psychoactive meaning it has a significant effect on mental processes

so how is that going to affect the mental processes in an unborn child ? .. or dont they have mental processes?

IMO such a psychoactive substance should only be ingested by grown adults who are not the primary life-support for a yet unborn child .....

Our children are lovely....well liked and loving,yes they are individuals and too smart to be coersed, but we like them that way

Even their 70+ grandmother says "keep doing what you are doing, they are great kids, whatever you are doing, you are doing it right"

Anyway Cannabis goes directly to damaged nerves, so when you are in pain, it goes straight to the sight of the pain and does not enhance mental processes

And anyone who has been pregnant will know there is significant pain involved, aren't we entitled to some proven safe pain-relief?

I have had 7 children, and suffered eating disorder and depression& anxiety which began PRIOR to initially using Cannabis....I had been hospitalized 2yrs before I fell pregnant wich our first child for those problems....now we have 7 beautiful, healthy children, I have written extensively, we produce our own and others music and we are a positive family that others flock to, all this from a teen who was told, at the age of sixteen, by a policeman...."I know your type, you will be dead within 2 yrs".....Do you think that all this progression and life could have been possible for me, had I not been living healthy?

I tell you, brother, with all due raspect, your thinking is the product of yrs of propaganda...this Herb was used in 60-70% of all Herbal preparations perscribed by Doctors, prior to prohibition..and yet no "psychological" effects were reported...this was in tincture form mind you, I know in the swinging 20s some went a bit wild on hashish....my point is......yes herb is powerful but it is perfectly safe and natural...a a great medicine for a huge variety of ills.....I owe it , in huge part, for the vast improvement to my health, it has been used for thousands of yrs for pregnancy with no reported (and no experienced) ill effects......

'Marijuana Medicine' is a book that lists the history of cannabis and it uses in various cultures (almost all cultures!) throughout the world.

 

The use of the herb and seed products during pregnancy and childbirth was very common, according to this book anyway.
