help with transplanting

Recommended Posts

hey i transplanted my plants 4 days ago because they needed a larger pot and i havnt seen any signs of new growth yet. my plants were also halfway through the flowering cycle when i transplanted them. my question is do marijuana plants still grow larger when they are in the flowering cycle or will new signs of growth for me be the budds growing larger but no actual plant growth?

cheers

Gggg's

It's Easter, 08' and this is my first post. My, this is certainly a bizzy thread!

I'd imagine this is no longer an issue, but maybe someone'll pop in, so I'll type a little.

First of all, I've been messin' w/this for 40 years and I don't think you wanna be transplanting flowering plants. While I'm sure it can be done, it's just not a good phase to be messin' with.

As long as you don't overwater, you'll probably be fine. Just like in all container grown cases, the growth will slow as the roots spread . . . of course, you don't want leaves now anyway.

Happy Easter!

if a pot is too small for a flowering plant, even with only 2-3 weeks to go before harvest its a fantastic idea to transplant the plant. sure it will cause a tiny bit of stress, but if the plant is rootbound and you are gentle chances are the plant wont even notice anything has gone on until its roots start poking down and find a whole lot of new medium for them to grow into.

if you are a mean transplanter, eg. bash the medium from the rootball so you can compress it to leave as much space for the plant to root into as possible or are simply rough as guts doing it then transplanting during flowering probably isnt the best idea. but so long as you are gentle chances are the plant wont even notice, it'll just keep growing and because of the extra root space your yield will be dramatically increased
