Temperature

Recommended Posts

G'Day jabez

Low temperatures at night are OK down to about 16 degrees outdoors, then start to effect the growth in a big way. Around 13 degrees will cause mild shock and below 10 degrees will kill your plants with repeated exposure. Keep your plants warm, especially the roots. Elevate pots if you think the ground is sucking the heat out of the roots. This is an issue if you have a slab or other type of cold floor.

Hope this helps

Yes the root temp is the important one. If it can be maintained around the 20' Celcius mark that is the temp to aim for. Too cold and growth starts to slow, too high and root disease/problems start. Concrete floors are a good friend in summer depending on where you are and the addition of an aquarium heater to the res is a good way to maintain the temp in winter

I agree bufo, In my exp. they can handle the hottest summers so long as the roots stay cool and the coldest winters so long as the roots stay warm and the plants don't get frost on them (one heavy frost will kill most MJ plants)
