My timer always stops...

Recommended Posts

i wouldnt trust anything but 15Amp digi timers for my lights. had too many manuals stick or melt in the first 6 months.

Only problem ive had with digi timers is after about 18months youll need to buy new or replace the battery depending on what kind you buy.. some timers are sealled and cant replace battery, some have a recharge batts some can and cant be replaced (should get a few years from a recharge batt), the majority have normal AAA or aa batt and are easlily replaced..

digis dont seem to melt like manuals but can be alittle confusing when you first buy but nothing reading the manual wont fix..

manuals are fine if on the packaging they say suitable for HIDs.

Nakajima

JBL

Phillips are the brand of timers i use, nakijima being in digi or manual types both have lasted me years..

WDC sounds like yours is suited to HID lighting or its 15amp version, not the kind you buy at your local supermarket for $6.

I have my light running off a analoge timer - 15min increments nut it always shits the timer for some reason?

I have tried 4 different timers - all analouge but they only ever work for one on period. They don't start agian without me reseting them. Are HPS lights ok to run off normal timers?

What wattage is your light? Those cheap timers are usually ok for up to 400w but not so good for anything higher, spend a few dollars on a good 15 amp plus timer and it will last for years.

i use kambrook and hpm manual timers and find they are totally reliable you have to use 15amp really, i find i couldn't trust the digital timers more. hpm is a brand you can find at most hardware and electrical stores( ideal elect. or haymans for eg) are usually warantee'd and good for the job at $15 for a pack of 2..for anythying that you usually have on for up to months at a time DONT USE CHINESE crap, as it is cheap and nasty...
