easy clone

Recommended Posts

Unreal, I just walked in with a box I bought at "crazy's" to make myself a new one, I know my old one's around here somewhere...but that could be anywhere..

Indy, I was going to do this later, but thought I'd might as well get a go on now, and ive you just a slight alternative to oldman's go.., so you can get them out without having to break things and such, just slip the whole tube out when it's ready, then peel the plastic tube open, and take the clone out the side.

Never seen a failed clone attempt ever this way mate. And fast as lightening.

Oldman-, are those air pumps these things? I've seen them on screen catalogues only and have been wondering about what kind of bublle mess they make, I hought they look encouraging. I see three sizes they come in, and have been wanting to meet someone who's used them.

Thanks mate, I thought I was looking at something in the water there that obviously wasn't so :scratchin:.

The foam lid idea is good to keep the light off the roots. I was going to use old ice cream buckets for the job this time, so the colour blocked the light, 'cause the clear lids do allow a bit of green to build up on the roots sometimes. It's easy to get off but, just run them under a flow of water, still, best if it doesn't happen to start with.

The greenmight be becuase I like to add a few drops of clone food/clonex (whatever brand), more for the anti-biotic effect than the clone effect.

ANwya, thanks for the foam idea, it has a couple benifits I'm thinking off that weren't immediately apparent to me.

cheers

Oldman, do you actually float the foam on the water level itself?

The prinicple used to be to keep spray hiting the roots, and not let them go underwater, the extra air present sped up rooting, and saved any fear of rot..

You obviouslyhave no problems like that.

Just got me curious now..I just assumed you had them suspended above the water.

In fact, the reason the tube isea was so popular in the past was so you could be sure to keep the clone ends "out" of the water, regardless of how long or short each clone is, as yhou could adjust each clone by pulling the tube "up" and save it from getting a dunking.

It's funny, i was justing talking in PMS with someone this morning, about how years ago, any indoor growing tutorial books insisted the serious importance of each plant having enough space so that the leaves of one plant NEVER so much as touched the leaves of another plant. To do so would result in such disaterous catasrpohy, remeber all that? Now days people have planst so stacked together you can't tell if it's one plant or 10 :scratchin:.

WHat we swear by one day, is turned on it's head the next.

As much superstion in growing as science at times ey?

cheers

rob
