130W Compact fluorescent lamps

Hi,

I was hoping someone may have some knowledge of these 130w cf lamps, and if one is better than the other

I was thinking of using one for seedlings and clones

They both come in 2700k 6400k & 14000k (marine)

The Growbrite at $79-$85 , and the Spectrum $65

I am pressuming for clones and seedling the best one would be 6400k..feel free to correct me

 

Any thoughts on other brands appreciated too

hey there

ive used both.. and imo no diff

i use the 6400k and payed only 66$ for the growbrite

i got the spectrum for 90$ wen they 1st hit the market

they woyk well imo on seedlings and clones

and ya can even maintain a mum with em

Hey guys. i just bought 2x spectrum 130s. 6400k. am settin em up on the weekend. could anyone tell me the best distance to have them from seedlings etc. i presumed the same as weaker fluoros.. but don't wanna cook my babies........thanx.......b.b............

I don't understand why people spend this much money on fluros. As soon as you get over 100watts why not go a 250 watt hps? much better value, remote ballast, and the bulbs cost the same or less than the fluro bulbs at those prices.

Well that does'nt help much does it. Pipeman, i'll tell you why i went with those big fluoros. i live 150ks from my hobby farm where i do all my handywork. i rent where i reside and my fricken landlord lives next door. so, i have a gutted fridge laying on its side which i raise cuttings and seedlings in. i can only get to my property once a week, for 2 days. i'd hate to leave babies for 4/5 days under a H.I.D.. I water by hand and i raise the girls in soil. so, horses for courses eh?

i am using 4' battons now but there not strong enough. [3 of em]. plants end up top heavy with very week stems. need more light penetration, hence the 130 watters.......thanx.....b.b.

hey all i bought 2 x 200watt CFL and red ..and white....

 

so 4x CFL in total got there for 90 each delivered to the door.
