Some years ago I knew a guy who had some involvement with the media. He was a few years older than me, a decent sort of chap and knew a lot of people and stories. I never found him out in a lie and I merely repeat his story as best as I can remember it.

 

He was attending an evening party sometime in the 1970s in a private house in one of the northern suburbs of Sydney. During the party the marijuana ran out. The host of the party said he could score some more and made a telephone call. About ten to fifteen minutes later a police Paddy-wagon pulled up at the front of the property and two uniformed police knocked on the door asking by name for the party’s host.

 

Everyone was freaked. The host greeting the police who then handed over a bag of cannabis and took the money. The host offered them smoko and drinks but being upright police officers they refused, explaining that they were on duty.

 

Now I don’t know if the story is true; but as I said, I never found this guy out in a lie.

I agree with you Jess I think that the attitude of the police force makes a huge difference. Their influence is well known in Australia and they do have very heavy input into the formulation of state legislature. They do not simply follow the lead of the polititions. And aside from that, even if they do not influence the laws themselves, they excercise discretion on both an operational and individual level in terms of which laws/people they will focus their resources on.

 

whether or not they care about stoners is another issue. and as Jess said, we make up big numbers and are easy targets.

you are truley an Inspiration. I do not say that to suck your E-dick, I say that because from what I have read and what I have seen, I think you deserve any compliments and encouragement that you can get. I looked at your site for the first time the other night, and I was truly inspired. Great work, and well done. You always pull out the links to cannabis related material, and I thank you for that. With eyes and ears like yours we are well on the way to achieving our goals. All I can say is, that after 12 years of smoking, and 2 years of thinking about the consequences of cannabis prohibition, I can only hope to have the inspiration, motivation and courage as a person like you, after 30 odd years. Your input is valuable and commendable.

 

And.... I will be quoting your words and links in any future, hypothetical court cases, so thankyou for that.

With cops and judges its always about the power , how many cops smoke ?? Fuckin heaps so much that its become a problem recently in nsw the hyprocracy is sickening ,.

 

Interesting story Al fish , dosnt surprise me having grown up on the north shore , i had mates who smoked then became cops did they stop smoking ?? No of course not , although one guy in particular would freek the crap out of me and my mates when he knocked of work and came knockin on the door lookin for smoko , i think id have a heart attack these days .....

I appreciate your compliment ausamp ,I to had the same thought at the back of my mind when I first did up DTS, that is if the cannabis road testing bandits got me I intend to refuse as I imagine I would fail but it would seem the verdict is out on that if the stats are anything to go by, anyway I would use DTS as my defense( a la

Ah-Ha I reveal myself as Jess Stone,yea sure that would make a difference ) but DTS was a bit "naughty" in some ways and I have removed a lot of the more personal vitriol so its more acceptable as a valid source of information which is what it was meant to be. I really need to re-organise it better like putting all the cannabis driving info together etc which I will begin shortly.

Now one other thing I will maintain to my grave that cannabis is no more than a harmless herb however I will concede that the delivery method though quick is not healthy as smoking any vegetable material is basically the same (B-B-Q,herb ciggy ,tobaccy,campfire,cooking,burnt toast,cabbage,cannabis etc),detrimental to your cardio-vascular health,with tobacco the actual drug in it nicotine is highly toxic about 4-6 ciggys worth of nicotine injected intra-veinously would kill most adults stone cold dead infact the niccy from one corona style cigar injected into an adult male bull elephant would kill him, but with cannabis the main active "drug" ^9THC is for all intent and purpose harmless,non-lethal,non-toxic and in many instances beneficial so its not the "drug" thats the problem but the delivery method (which research seems to show is bad for your lungs but not in the league of tobaccy for lung harm)thats it nothing more, the rest of the anti-cannabis forces arguments are lies and exaggerations,mis-truths and dis-information and quite irrational and bizarre, its like they have the mental disease that cannabis causes, that is, irrationality monstrously out of proportion to any real "problem" that may or not exist with cannabis.

seriously when are they going to realize they are fighting a loseing battle, it dont matter what they do people will always use drugs its human nature to push the boundaries of the mind if it wasnt for drugs there would be many many many things not invented many things not discovered many things not tested and many songs not written

 

but unfortunatly like the war in the middle east they will just keep trying it dont matter how many peeps fall
