Jess has hooked Paul DILLON on a blog !

Recommended Posts

I suppose it's unrealistic to claim that Jess is a 5th columnist - he's too enthusiastic. Yes Jess, I smoke and/or grow pot and think that the 24 year jail sentence thing is tantamount to war on us.

... does your post actually classify as news? Or did you do it so everyone can see it on the front page?...
But one thing's for sure: this post doesn't belong in the Australian News section. You can get plenty of air time elsewhere like in the club-house, believe me.

So one last check, no-one wanted to ride him out of town with me? OK, yee'hah. :peace:

Jess the Nimbin Hemp Embassy did all but actively encourage the harsher laws for hydro in NSW. one of them even tried to justify it as "evening up" the laws so indoor growers now face the same penalties pound for pound as outdoor growers. I assume you read the thread Jess as you made the last post in it...

but anyway, why do people hang shit on commercial growers? They fill a need. If people didn't want them, they wouldn't exist. how many of us would have even discovered this herb if there wasn't guys around selling it? Not to mention the fact that many of the growing techniques, breeding and nutrients/gadgets on todays market were probably developed to meet the demands of commercial growers.

The only complaint I have about commercial growers is that I don't know any so when I run dry I gotta drive to Nimbin. but I'm glad they exist.

The obstacle to law reform right now isn't commercial growers. Its the lack of activism. Making websites and sending emails is great, but in reality it means shit. I wonder if the people claiming that commercial growers are blocking law reform are actually doing any meaningful activism themselves? :peace:

Nope, there's no point while others are wrapped up in their own greed. Their too busy worried about their own goals than bothering of thinkin' of the issue as a whole for all smokers/growers.

How about yaself Pipe, been doing any worthy activism lately?

no Indy I don't do any real world activism to speak of. but I also don't blame others for my inaction like you seem to be doing.

The point I'm making is, its silly to claim there is an obstacle to law reform, when in reality no one is really fighting for law reform. So the first obstacle to overcome is apathy. Until we do that, masturbating about the political correctness of commercial growing is a bit pointless IMO.

yup, stoners are good at justifying doing nothing but sitting on our arse burning cones. Its one of our core skills :peace:

Yup, i blame em for being a cog in the works. Between bigtime growers, bent cops and Gov/prohibitionist, what chance would a handful of personal growers have, surely you've been around long enough to know the deal.

Also, i did tell a lie before. I haven't been one of those taking it up to Gov or local MP's etc... But for a couple of decades i have been informing family members, friends and workmates that MJ isn't as bad as it's beat up to be. A lot of my family members are christians and i've managed to get quite a few of them to think for themselves. I know it's not a lot. But it's betta than nothin' at all.

Maybe in your household mate, but not in this one at the moment

I disagree mate I think that is a lot. and its something we should all do more.

Imagine if every stoner in Australia set a goal of making one person a month realise the insanity of the drug laws we have and support law reform, and then convinced them to do the same. In a few years we'd have a pretty big support base wouldn't we?

I don't see the goal of activism to be legalisation. Just too unrealistic IMO. I see activism as trying to soften the stance of the justice system and the penalties we face when we get busted. and if not, at least try to prevent the reefer madness brigade from making things worse than they already are. :peace:

Yup, word of mouth is still quite a good tool. It seemed to help in Oregon (USA) just recently in their last couple of state elections (from memory). Tryin' to get some bill passed.

It sure is one hell of a uphill battle here in Oz. Especially under the current Gov. Bit of luck, next election we may see a change of Gov. If that happens, they might cut us some slack. Wishful thinking i know, but ya gotta have some faith in the system... :peace:

:(

Maybe then it would be a wise choice to flood labor party members, Rudd, Gillard, Garret etc, about cannabis law reform. Who knows their contact details, or who can be bothered looking them up????

Lets let them know how many people are actually for cannabis law reform. Lets tell them that they wont lose votes for changing.

Also, Go for it Jess, bad publicity is better than no publicity. Look at Paris Hilton, what has she done that is good, yet she is famous. Being polite and quiet, calm stoners hasn't worked, time to make some noise.

The people that have attacked Jess, are they willing to put up a list of the things that they have done to help the pro-Cannabis community????
