Clones

Recommended Posts

Hey people, im on my 3rd grow now and have a good idea on most growing aspects but im having trouble timing my clones. I have a cupboard set up with 400HPS, and on top there is a cloning section. The problem is that i have been taking my clones after my plants have been under 12/12 for a week, the strike fine then grow too quick and run out of room before my plants a ready to harvest. Im just interested as to what other people do? Im thinking of setting up another cupboard with a little 250MH what are your thoughts??

I agree with billo and wdc. Just make a slightly bigger space and keep a mum under a fluro or two. You don't need much light to keep them alive, and you don't want em growing fast anyway. And then you can take cuts whenever you want.

When you start to veg your clones in the mum cabinet I'd hang fluros either side of them instead of on top of them as this will encourage more branching.

Is best to keep the clones well fed this will keep them healthy but will also grow like crazy so youll need to tip and cut branches back weekly..

I had a simular set up to you about 12months ago, id take my clones in week 2 of flower then slowly reveg and veg clones for 6 weeks. These clones never ended up being the same size and often didnt look the best.

i bought 4x 4foot flouros, made a 1200mm x 700mm x 1000mm tall box to mother a couple of mother plants that last about 9 months. Clone timing is alot easier now no reveg needed, i take clones 3 weeks before i need, 10 days to root then 10day flouro veg in a small pot plants can be instantly flowered and would yield atleast 4ounce each.
