Flowering Stage

Recommended Posts

Just wanting to know, as a flowering plant continues to sprout new shoots is it harmful to continue taking cuttings, should I avoid taking cuttings or is this a good time to make clones if I know it is a female? :peace: I've just got a few plants that I've been growing indoors, I'm probably flowering them a bit early. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

are you indoors or outdoors

with flowering plants you can still take clones, providing they don't have visible flowers.. visible flowers will die off and can cause rotting problems in rooting clones... it can be done but as the plant gets more mature the harder it becomes....

Thanks for that :peace: . . . another Q now :peace: . . . is there a maturity level that the plants need to reach before going into flowering stage, like I said, I'm flowering these a bit early, they're rather small, but I didn't think they would need to be any particular size before I could begin flowering.

(I should have mentioned that the plants are only a few months old) :toke:

na theres no real set time.. you can flower them at any time really... but you probably want maximum leaf fingers at about 9, 11, or 13.. I guess at 7 they would be old enough to flower... I would say at 2-3 months they would be showing about 9 or 11 fingered leaves... ??

when the plant grows you will notice it starts with single fingered leaves.,. then 3,5,7,9,11,13,15...and so on.. I guess if it grows long enough... ive only ever seen 13 fingers... when the plant turns to flower the order is reversed all the way up until the plant is ripe/mature.. the flowers showing single leaves would mean its some where near done... then you would check the trichromes for a more exact time window...

so i guess waiting until the plant is showing at least 9 or 11 fingers would be maximizing growth.. but I couldn't see why you couldn't flower when they've shown the 7 fingered leaves....

should be fine...
