Flushing ....

The experience of commercial growers using autopots, (and my own too, as I grow motherplants and orchids in them) is that flushing is definitely required. They claim it isn't, but with EXPERIENCE in their use I can tell you that media salt levels do build up, and wick systems are more prone than most to this problem.

If you have been flushing and havent had a problem keep doing so.

 

For me I dont flush until the final flush. Simply because im a lazy bastard.

 

I would use a very mild nutrient mix instead of plain water though, just to be on the safe side.

yeah Luke, good to hear from another autopot user. Now I know, ya might get the odd question or 2 from me.

 

With others experience with the Autopots though Luke, as they claim, flushing is not a necessity for them. I for one, have no reason not to belive them.

 

Personally, I don't give a flying fuck if someone flushes or not. I do it because I believe its a good idea, given my current level of knowledge and experience with subject. In fact my weekly flush is tomorrow, and I honestly believe my plants are gonna like me for it.

oh.. im not going to defend my self... on how experienced I am... why the hell should I?? take a look around and read some of my tutorials... have a look at some of my grows.. I have grow diaries to back up what I am saying... I aint just pissing in the wind with some theory.. what I will tell you WILL work.. how do I know??? because Ive done it... as ive done pretty much nearly every experiment known to indoor hydroponics... ive tried growing on tap water.. doesn't work... plants need certain levels of nutrients to grow properly... im pretty sure me being the cheap cunt that I am.. if I didn't need to buy nutrients I sure as hell wouldn't be...

flushing DOES work.. and will NEVER harm your plants... growing under flouros doesn't work... oh it does.. but HIDs are certainly 100% better...

oh yeah.. and although flowering under a MH will get you great results.. a HPS will do a shit load better... more plants kept small will yield a shit a load more than one plant grown in the same space... a parabolic shade will distribute the light more evenly in a square grow room where as a batwing shade will do better in a rectangular grow room..

just a few things Ive fucked around with while in my experiment stage...

 

oh.. and SODA water.. give that a try... if youve heard of this technique.. then its come from ME... not fucking high times... I told them...

I change my nutrient solution every week too a void nutrient imbalance w.I top up my rezy with fresh 6.3 water to the reqd level during the week .I used to flush with fresh water but fuck its a prick of a job and doesnt seem to make any diff.

I run a 6pot recycling bubbler setup with a 70 litre rez

Hey Buddy.g looking good there bro ,,, the more also relates to the time factor , 9 to 12 clones in that cupboard every 8 wks will give you more over a year because it will fill your grow space faster and has a quicker turn around , you will also find the single crowns will yeild more than tied tops not a great deal but they will , for the highest yield in the fastest time more plants will win everytime .

 

When talking good or bad yields time is directly related to yield as is used light , when people say to me they get great yields my first questions are , how many , how long as in time , how much light .

the other reason sog will tend to yield more is that the total volume of the rootzone is bigger than a typical scrog.

 

the big disadvantage of growing sog is that your plant numbers will a lot higher which could be trouble if you're busted.
