Im looking for some help in regards to WATER

Recommended Posts

If it's an emergency you can always buy water from your local supermarket for a while until it rains.

You can use tap water just make sure the pH after you have added your nutrients is how it should be with pH up or down. Also check the EC level of your tap water with a meter. My tap water does not register so it's safe to use, but if you have a high mineral/metal content in your tap water it could be bad but then again there are people who do use that stuff with weaker nutrients.

The local water company should be able to supply a general analysis of the tap water. This is a common request so won't arouse suspicion. Then you can not only know the ec and ph, but just what's in it and what could be a potential problem....

Provided the ec isn't too high, it should be okay, Some catchments in perth have ec levels of .8 to 1.0! But people still grow plants pretty well under these horrendous supplies, myself included. I've since seen the light though and bought a 200L RO filter as I find water quality is so horrible it's worth it.

Let us know what the e.c. and pH levels are and we can give you an idea about whether it's suitable for use in hydroponics and growing plants. MJ is pretty salt tolerant actually, and can handle a fair whack of insoluble nutrients before problems become serious. That said, they always grow better with better water, all else being equal.

hey there apho

i would be doing as luke said and get a water analysis so that you know your levels but if ya got a small amount of spare cash get ya self a ppm or ec tester and a ph tester these 2 items are definatly needed if you wanna look after your ladies even when using rain water as i use
