Real Wrinkled New Growth

Recommended Posts

I have had one youngish clone that seems to have all new growth being all wrinkled but the strange thing is these wrinkles are beyond anything i have ever seen.. It seems like they have gone like your fingers after a long bath.

Now firstly i figured a growth abmonally and minor nutes problem as it looked like outside of new growth wasnt growing so i flushed and refilled a week batch of nutes but the trouble continues (but the others are fine feed from same nutrients) so i waited thinking that the new growth was affected at forming and some new growth will come good but it hasnt the older affected growth is flattening out with still weird dimpled texture to them without any intervenial or even any discoloration

OK I dont have access to a camera so ill have done my best to describe this curio. Will try to get one if this continues as after a few flushes and a refill of nutes the newer growth is still affected.

Now the problem is with one out of 4 plants in a top feed system recirculation and i have tried swapping the plants around to check if its due to location but no its still only on that one. All netpots have about the same roots out the base and all are just as white as each other so to me that eliminates the root zone as the affected one is not stunted with root growth.

Is this familiar to anyone as ive read everything i can but cant find anything like it??

My best bet to what it looks like is nutrient burn without the dieing off of the affected leaves as they are growing out still but they get much the rippling effect of the burning at start but stay that way

Just a curio as it is but only one baby and sometimes its better to kill it then to leave them struggling....but i will leave it till i see what it does!

if its only 1 plant in a 4 plant system, then imo you should replace the cutting with another one before it gets too late...the difference come harvest time between the runt and the other plants will more than likely be fairly large so i would get on to it asap :yahoo:

before you do that though, are you growing the same strain in each pot or are you growing different strains?

Hmmm, I'll have a guess

Strange that one out of four is showing this trait, which if it were a grow room/medium problem you'd expect all of them to do it?

Healthy roots eliminates a rotting clone?...

The only other thing I can think of is a build up of salts I had once with old perlite, but your using hydroton? with net pots, so that is unlikely.

I'm gonna go with a guess of sickness from the cloning process, some clones surviving better than others.

wantdachronic:: all clones are the same strain and treated the same one other there had the top feed hose pinched so is smaller So no it aint a hassle as ill just add a week or so veg to fill my box with whats equal. The others can become waiting mothers and running 2 plants ill have more light down sides.

torture did they come good or stay like that till chop do us part??

bufo marinus i do recycle my rocks but i clean rinse soak in oxyplus sun dry then rinse them again over a 1 week period. they still have some mild salt patches on a few but they are removed when seen and just visible when found.

I have been offered some fresh genetics so will start the sexing on them ball bearings soon in case its genetic problem.
