read MJ botany.. theres a small chapter on feminizing seeds...

if any one would know.. I think he would...lol

the theory is... a pure female that pushes a few "banana" leaves will produce a female seed.. becuase the pollin lacks the male chromosome... doesnt mean you wont get males.. and it certainly doesnt mean you wont get hermies... I guess a few throw backs would be expected...

Logger.. you may have been lucky with your seed selection not to get males.. or like you said you just do it right... as of course some methods would certainly more successful than others...

light stressing.. as in having the light come on for an hour, half way through the flowering period has proven to be a very effective way to feminize seeds... heat stress... turning fans off to increase the humidity... all these methods are great for feminizing seeds... you will get the odd male and maybe the odd hearmie.. thats just the way it is... i guess...

a few batches of seed ive had.. not intentially done this way.. was a clone from a clone and so on.. eventually the strain goes into survival mode and self pollinates.. the whole crop will be seedy crap.. but the seeds will be predominately female... one batch of Super Skunk that I done this way... we NEVER seen a male at all...well I got one.. out of about 5000 seeds.. not that I planted them all...I used this male for breeeding.. and worked a treat... no problems at all... all the seeds I handed out to mates.. ALL female... so is this the "right" method.. maybe, who knows for sure?? it fucking worked for Red devil as well... funnily enough we couldnt get sensi's NL to hermie AT ALL... so I guess some strains are more suseptable to female seedings...

so yes female seeds are viable and are not a myth... but to get 100% females.. your just lucky I would say...

Gibrellic acid.. or GA34... is the shit a lot places use.. sprayed onto a female plant it will reverse gender.. apparently sprayed on a male plant it will turn it female... wierd shit...the plant cant be smoked is my beleif after its been it with GA34... when its sprayed on.. the plant will grow out a single branch.. covered in balls... the seeds are supposed to be females... Ive bought some GA34.. but havent tried using it my self yet.. a mate tried some on his bubble gum... but it didnt work properly.. whether hes done it right or not.. I am not sure... still experimenting with this shit... personally I think the clone from a clone method seems a lot safer to me...

how ever .. I have had the luck and have had a few "banana" leaves appear on my White Heaven.. I have gathered about 40 seeds from this self seeding... guess what... all female so far...

I am sure theres another thread about feminizing seeds??

I bet the farmers son is pissed off :freak: ...................OR maybe the farmer thought HE WAS HOT ,and better blame someone else :scratchin:

EDIT..... Sorry I put the wrong quote above, it was meant to be the one about coming back when they are ready and pinching a bit.

Who knows, with this amount this is certainly possible.... I was watching a show/doco about gorilla farmers crops and how in the USA they bring illegal Mexican immigrants over just to sit in the crops like 24/7 with guns etc. You have to be very careful.
