Charges over cannabis cookies

POLICE have charged a woman on the far north coast over the possession of cookies and chocolates made with cannabis.

Police were attending the break-in of several shops in Nimbin's Cullen Street yesterday about 1pm (AEDT) when they witnessed an alleged drug transaction in one of the shops.

While searching the premises, they seized bags of cannabis leaf, nearly 2kg of cannabis cookies and 89 chocolates wrapped in foil and made from cannabis butter weighing more than 1.3 kg, polie said.

They also seized a sum of cash.

A 51-year-old woman from Jiggi was arrested at the scene and charged with three counts of supply a prohibited drug, two counts of possess a prohibited drug and one count of goods in custody.

She was granted conditional bail and will appear in Lismore Local Court on December 4, police have said.

"Alleged" drug transaction ay lol And how can they prove on the spot that the cookies + chocolates had cannabis in them?

I'm guessing they don't need to prove it on the spot. The lab report will provide all the evidence they need in court.

same old story though, police taking the opportunity to fuck over stoners after someone has committed a crime against them.... Last I was in Nimbin the word was there was a new female porker looking to earn an extra stripe so was trying to rack up as many busts as possible. Fucking sad. And while we're on the subject, its mystifying to me why the locals don't band together and run the junkies out of town. lol

Nimbin isnt as bad for junkies as it was in the mid to late nineties but the fact is most of the people in the street selling weed are either junkies or kids from out of town looking to make a quick buck, the locals seem to have become more and more scarce over the years especially the ones who used to sell you a handful of buds somewhere in the vicinity of the money you had, the last couple of times I have been there the dealers have pulled out digis and weighed the pot to the gram.

Nimbin is still Nimbin and it always will be a great place to go for a pot smoker, but the carefree hippie town that once was is gone forever I think

Sorry the story doesnt make sense..the police where attending the break in?(crooked cops?) or where they attending the scene of an alleged prior break in? And what are the air head hippies doing calling the cops? What they think they are all cool with the cops? looks like a sting operation to me. This also looks like police feed news report. Cops arent the most educated of people. So a little more information is required.

lol
