info about greendream nutes?

Recommended Posts

hi folks im posting from scotland on your board because ive recently come across another "new range" of nutrient in my local hydro shop its called "greendream" made by a co. called flairform(in your fine country)......i havent bought it yet but the blurb on the leaflet sounds appealing, its claiming to be a true 2 part nutrient in a single bottle(im lazy & hate mixing As & Bs & stuff) lol

so....the big question is(OK questions lol ).....is it any good?.....do many of you folks use it?.......are we only seeing it here because you dont use it over there?

sounds great to me if it does wot it says on the tin..also claims to be 20% stronger than your avg. 2 parter?

any feedback appreciated

cheers

welcome swordfish. i havent used a single part nute before, but flairform has a good reputation in oz. they are scientists not marketers! there silica majic is well known to be the best quality silica imo on the market.

i always thought a 2 part was superior to a single part nute though? something to do with calcium nitrate not combining with other nutes? but im sure that would have been worked out as there seems to be more and more single part nutes on the market

cheers

Do I smell an Advertisment first post??? No link but all the info for a google search....lol

But wait theres more!!!!

A set of stoneys midgets if you call now......

Mature hydroponic plants: 5 to 8ml per litre (EC 1.7 to 2.6mS) This seems a bit high to me

Replace nutrient every 7-14 days. does this indicate that the nutrient resettles within the tank as it does pre mixed??

Sorry ive had bad experience with one part nutrients in the past thus my sceptisim

cheers for the input chaps, i will maybe just give it a miss on this occassion..no mad marketing claims been made by the co. who produce it bar the fact they say theyre the 1st co. to make a nute slurry that will mix the 2 parts by shaking the bottle for 20secs or so then adding to your water(this is the bit that appeals to me) saving you on mixing As & Bs & having your 2 part nute in 1 bottle

no advertising from me by the way a genuine question looking for genuine answers

cheers again

The canna isn't that special, certainly nothing more than a normal a+b really. Slightly different chelates in some though, but really, if you're running things right this shouldn't be an issue...

But on the greendream...

That's about ideal for a mature plant actually. Only media such as coco or water culture systems require lower than typical e.c. levels, and you can certainly do okay without high ones, but some plants enjoy 2.6 on the truncheon... :punk: Some plants like it high, some low, but that range is about standard IMHO. I use a max of 2.6 meself.

No, :peace: it means that if you're running a recirculating system your nutrient will become unbalanced, (no matter what nutrient you use) and needs to be replaced with a fresh batch. The nutrient does not resettle.

I've been using this stuff on some orchids and in my mother/clone room, and I have to say I've been nothing but happy.

2 part nutes are a traditional way of ensuring that there is no insoluble preciptitation between calcium and phospohorus. But with certain proportions and particular chemicals, you can make a perfectly good nutrient with all that's required and keep it in one bottle.

Flairform are a good company, they're "Dutch Treat 1" is pretty good too, being the formula for hard and salty waters, (like most coastal cities). But if you've got pure water, or near enough, the Greendream is good to go. :peace:

And yeah, they're analytical chemists and not major marketers. They just work on being good. They make a good pH indicator kit and silikamajic (love it) as well as pythoff and a couple of nutrient lines.

Hope that answers the original question. :punk:

Welcome to the boards swordfish, I hope you like the forums and hang around. :punk:

hey skywalker cheers for that mate :applause: i ended up buying a bottle today (dont try never know)

i grow in recirculating bubblers & tend to keep the nutes about 16max on my trunch with my usual nute

im presuming with the high npk of the greendream i probably wont need a flower boost either

i usually use cannas pk but will see how they look without it

will let you folks know how i get on

cheers

I'm currently using full strength 2.7EC for one soil plant GreenDream Grow 1 part nutrient.

It is growing that fast I can't believe it and that's with only about 12 hours of direct sunlight outside in the daytime then I bring it inside of a night so bugs don't eat it.

I give it about 150-200mL per day and it's flourishing.

I'd recommend Flairform any day of the week and I also have their pH test kit which is wonderful.
