POLICE have uncovered a large hydroponic marijuana operation in a Port Melbourne warehouse.

Officers from the Moorabbin regional response unit executed a warrant on the Nott St property on Wednesday night and arrested three men.

Police yesterday removed 150 cannabis plants from the building.

Sgt Andrew Collison said the warehouse was fitted with hi-tech lighting and watering systems.

He said the plants ranged from about 45cm to 70cm tall and would have been close to being harvested.

Sgt Collison said police were unsure how long the drugs had been grown in the rented warehouse.

Jason Jackson, 32, of Craigieburn, appeared in court yesterday on five charges, including trafficking a commercial quantity of cannabis. He did not apply for bail.

Magistrate Angela Bolger remanded him to appear in court again on January 22.

A Little River man, 32, and a Port Melbourne man, 31, are expected to be charged on summons.

well no bail tells the story

atleast 4 to 6months on remand if there is no bail hearing, that would likley be the sentance 12months do 4 to 6 depending on state and behaviour.

150 plants isnt a lot really may have had 50 flowering, 50 vegging and 50 clones.

stay away from the actions unless buying a car hydro gear would be used and over priced coppers seem to think those lights sell for 1000s and the fish pumps go for 100s.

Ive been to police auctions around newcastle but I am allways grabbing a mate to take along with a different address and a non grower to buy stuff for me.

The ones Ive been to have been run by a third party you dont even hear anything about the police or nothing just an auction.

Sometimes they are called a sherrifs auction

You will be surprised the stuff they get in them.
