Dieing Leaves

Recommended Posts

I'm growing in Coco. 6 weeks in Veg. COGr Nutes. ph=5.8. Plants are generally healthy, really green with plenty of new growth.

I'm a bit concerened because some of the OLDER leaves are showing signs similar to nute deficiancy. They are turning brown and crumbly on the edges. It's only on the leaves that were from the original mother plants when I took clones.

What am I doing wrong?. Should I be worried?

Gee, don't you guys ever sleep?. I wasn't expecting a reply untill tomorrow!.

Could be root bound problems. They're 12" tall in pots about twice the size of a scooner. Ran out of money, so I've only just bought the big pots and coco.

I've been mixing my nutes at 55mls per 8 litres of water. I don't know what the EC is but the ph is 5.8.

i find that with coco the size of the plant dictates the pot size you need :peace: ie. if you want a 2ft x 2ft size plant, you ATLEAST need a pot of the same size to prevent the plants getting too rootbound and from what i have seen having a pot of an equal size doesnt mean you wont get rootbound, it will only make it take longer to happen ;)

Bundy: 55mls A then 55mls B. That's what it says on the bottle. Its ph buffered, when I mix it at that strength the ph is smack on 5.8. If I was mixing it to strong the ph would be to acidic.

Wantda: They didn't seem to be root bound when I took them out of the smaller pots. I've trimed of all the dead shit, and I haven't seen any new dead stuff.

That might be what it says on the bottle it doesn't mean it's right for your plants, each strain varies in the strength of nutes it can take up/handle. The best thing you can do for yourself is get a TDS meter that displays ppm that way you know exactly what the strength of your mix is and adjust it for the needs of your plant. B)
