Ive been useing the liquid ph kit for ever and Im about to rebuild my set up, thought maybe its time to update some of my gear

That ph meter seems ok to me.

 

I got one through ebay and only payed $15 for it and i think gazza got one as well. it is a basic ph meter but it dose the job...

i dont have this one but i got my ph and ppm tester through ebay and got them both for about 20 each mine are just the simple stick ones but hey they work well for me

IMHO don't buy it, I've got an identical one floating around here somewhere along with a few cheapo ph pens. The one you show I ripped out of the res after it was still fluctuating 2 hours after putting it in, the pens needed calibrating every single bloody time I used them if I wanted a half accurate reading so I tossed those into the junk pile too. I finished up buying a new Bluelabs PH Truncheon, I only regret not getting one in the first place insteading wasting over $100 on shit ones, this one's the bomb it's so damn accurate and hasn't needed recalibrating yet (it even tells you when it needs calibrating even though I have been checking it's accuracy incase). It also is completely servicable and all parts are readily available, the probe has a 12 month warranty and the rest of the truncheon has a 3 year warranty. Yes they cost 4x as much but you'll never need to buy another one again

how deep the res gotta be for a truncheon to work ?

 

my res only about 5 inches deep

That is more then deep enough to use a truncheon...

Bought one also. Said it came from Australia and was shipped from china. Took forever and sucks sucks sucks... I have a few better quality ones around here not using anymore. If anyone needs one it's a Hanna ph/temp.

Open to any type of ethonobotanical seeds (viable).
