Huh? What's going on here?

Recommended Posts

I have a friend who has a problem - his plants seem to be reverting to a veg stage or something. Two plants in a recirculating system under 2 x 400w lights, using an organic product called PsychoFinish for the last couple of weeks of flowering stage (it was recommended to him by a few more experienced growers). The plants look great, lovely sticky buds, all the hairs still nice and white. However in the last week or so the buds seem to have developed a taste for re-vegetating, with pretty vigourous regrowth of leaves in the top layer of buds. The rest of the buds further down the plant look fine, ie still have 'hairy heads' but the top ones on both plants are stacking a new layer of leaves daily. He's concerned this may be diverting growth from the buds, which makes sense to me too. Anyone know what's going on here?

Hi maxsat, welcome to Oz Stoners.

Any chance of a few pictures? Has he checked to make sure the light timer is working properly and on 12/12 and that there are no light leaks?

It may also be an idea to visit the PsychoFinish web site and contact their customer support, it may not be compatible with your nutrients.

Thatnks Tom

The box is tight as a drum, the timer's fine and Psycho finish is a standalone - ie used instead of nutirient in the last two weeks. CF using psychofinish is about 12, in line with advice from the manufacturers, and pH is held around 5.3-5.8.

Funny thing is, though, the ph has been FALLING in the last week instead of going up as it's done throughout the grow.

With my last SCROG setup I was using a light rail and some of the buds started to reveg.

The light was travelling 2 metres with a 30 second delay at each end but I had the height set at about 15cm above the tallest bud so it looks like even the shortest period of high temps will cause revegitation.

Some of the leaves from the faster growth were scorched as well
