mould starting on cured buds

i have about an ounce of bud curing in a glass mason jar for a couple of mths now.

 

i just went to raid the cookie jar and noticed a couple of the buds are showing a little mould.

 

is there any way i can stop the mould from spreading and save these (my best buds from my harvest too) buds.?

yes get rid of the moldy parts.. and take out of the jar, should stop it from spreading too much further..

moldy pot aint good to smoke apparently.. so just ditch it...

 

if its not too bad, then Ive seen some one vaccume the buds with a window mesh, this will suck up a lot of the loose spores too... ive never done this.. but it does work...ive seen the before and after...

i just trimmed off the visible stuff and am gonna smoke this ounce next instead of last

 

if it gets any worse i will try thevaccuum trick maybe

your buds must not have been fully dry when you put them in for cure. carefully go over your buds and remove any mouldy parts obviously and give them a bit of time to air out before sealing them again. Break apart any big buds and check inside for any signs of developing mould. Wash the jar or use a new jar before putting them back in.

Yah , I agree with SS , the main thing is that you air them out properly (Obvious I spose) The mould can't really grow without moisture.

If you were still drying and you get mould , thats more tricky.

When I was younger I bagged up too early (Plastic ) and about 8 ounces went mouldy over 2 days I wasn't there , I spread it all out on newspaper and put it out in the sun , saved about 2 ounces of goodness , and ended up with about 6 ounces of crumble bud (Not crispy dry tho - the mould and redry and shit just made the buds all fall apart) I still smoked some of it , and It was fine really , maybe a little harsh , but not too bad.

Anyway , I ended up selling 6oz of crumble to a mate for $60 hehehe.

Well , I guess I just told a story and that dosen't really help at all aye , so , but anyway , Its related.

i'm airing them out now and have removed all the mould i can see (yep SS is correct, it looks like white whispy fur). hopefully save what is left.
