Off-the-shelf grow cabinets anyone ?

Recommended Posts

well, that homebox looks like a great product IMO. The Australian distributer is http://www.accenthydroponics.com/ At $638 its a little pricey but a one off purchase and if you have to move its not as much hassle as a big wardrobe.

And big enough to run a 600. If you didn't want to convert your own cupboard this is what I'd suggest but as others have said you can do it yourself a lot cheaper and it ain't that hard. lol

Thanks for all the replies people, much appreciated. Yeah the Homebox looks good but it's still not a complete system (I'm thinking I need lights, trays, other stuff). I not against paying for something well made (it took me two years to finish a dog house I built - poor dog had to sleep under the stars a long time..).

Pipeman, I liked your idea of contacting some hydro suppliers and asking if they do full setups. Anyone know of any reliable stores in Adelaide (apparently we're full of options here..). What's a 600 anyway ? That's watts I presume. Does a bigger lamp just = a bigger grow ?

yeah gruntus I just meant a 600watt light. Usually enough for a personal supply.

any hydro shop will sell you lights, fans and a hydro system to suit that space.

I kinda know where you are coming from you just want a steady supply of pot and don't mind forking out some $$ to get it right. The thing is if you look into building the room and system yourself I think you will give yourself a much better knoweldge of indoor growing in general which can only be a good thing.

what can I say other than you need to do a lot of reading in indoor growing forums and educate yourself on the options...

indoors doesn't need to be any more complicated than outdoor growing (cept for the fans & light). Can just be in handwatered pots if you like, or even the same soil you've had success with outside. lol

in my opinion in a good size wardrobe a 400w hps is all ya need if ya go for a 600w you will nedd some heat extraction so it dont heat up to much but if you lookin at ventilation in there anyway then a 600 will be good.

i use a 400w in my wardrobe and it works well as good as even

and yeah go through the tutes that ss done will help ya heaps and dont forget get out there one weekend and do a huge op shop run they are the best places to find cheap used wardrobes

hope this helps
