Off-the-shelf grow cabinets anyone ?

Recommended Posts

Hey does anyone know if it's possible to purchase pre-made/kit grow cabinets & equipment. I know that grow.com.au used to have a model that looked like a fridge complete w/ lights, fans, nutes, etc.. It was just a matter of plugging it in & growing (apparently). Their site is down for an overhaul currently (5 years overdue) - was never quite sure if it was a scam or not (it just looked so.. professional).

I have grown in soil for over a decade but circumstance is making me consider hydro for the first time; I recently found that having large, healthy plants growing in my backyard was making other people paranoid (partner, parents, friends) - passive growing ? Anyhoo, I know less than bugger all about hydro and am happy to purchase something well made, or even commission a hobbyist-grower out there who is proud of their grow-room skills. I want something I can put in my (small) shed - fridge size would be about ideal..

Any serious links or leads appreciated. Peace, G.

Check out your local hydro store they should have something but it would be the expensive way to go. A good inexpensive way to begin is to get an old cupboard, panda plastic / hydro film, 2 x fans, 2 x self watering pots, a 400W HPS light kit, a timer, a power board, growing medium (prob use coco pete or premium potting mix for hand watering) and vegative + flower nutrient.

Cut a hole at the top and a hole at the bottom of the cupboard to attach your fans to, next line the inside of the cupboard with the hydro film, next hang your light on an adjustable chain so that it's easier to raise and plug into the timer (i recomend buying a pool timer with a waranty as they have a tendancy to pop, 24hr or 18on/6off for veg, then 12on/12off for flowering) . Fill the pots with medium put in your seed or cuttings and your away. This is a great way to begin and can easily be advanced to a drip system.

Yah man , Good Luck Gruntus ,

I agree with the rest of the guyz , definatley create your own man.

Try for an old cupbord , Broken fridge or just make your own box.

Get em' the shed and take to em with the tools (if u have any , If not borrow some)

Then you just need to pay for the light etc. lol

No Worries.

lol

I've looked at those systems in the past , most look pretty good to me , but they are always very overpriced.

lol

Oh , I just thought , You could just hang up that reflective material suggested in a corner shape (sorry I couldn't phrase that well rite now)

lol

Well , you probly know half this shit anyway ... lol

Bye 4 Now

Budman ... Out. lol

p.s. Could someone tell me plz if you can buy those reflective materials anywhere besides a Hydro Shop? Hardware store , Bunnings etc. Thx.
