Drug raid nets 160 plants

POLICE raided 10 properties this week, charged two people and recovered more than 160 marijuana plants during a series of drug busts in Gin Gin.

 

Bundaberg detectives, as well as the dog squad, helped the Gin Gin police carry out the major operation.

 

Gin Gin Police Senior Constable Tim Marrinan said 80 marijuana plants had been recovered from a property at Gaeta and a further 80 plants and 3.7kg of dried leaves and buds had been discovered on a second property in the area.

 

“It’s very pleasing when police receive information and the operation goes well,” Snr Const Marrinan said.

 

 

 

Detective Senior Constable Meg Owens said the drug haul had a street value of $230,000.

 

“The drug raid recovered 80 cannabis plants along with a large quality of cannabis leaf and head and drug implements,” Det Snr Const Owens said.

 

“Two people were charged with various drug related charges and will face the Bundaberg Magistrates Court at a later date.”

 

Det Snr Const Owens said each cannabis plant had a street value of about $2500.

 

Following the success of the raid, police are encouraging anyone with information on illegal drugs to telephone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

I wish they would stop this foolishness.

Maybe 80 plants might be a bit excessive , But people need the shit , simple. I bet It would all be consumed anyway , even If it were 1000 plants.

It is scary to think they see you as a criminal if you grow MJ. They are so strange. To me they are the criminals.

Not to mention that if anyone has a grudge against you for any reason they can just dob you in out of spite.

That Dob in a Dealer thing is similar , and someone could dob you even if you did't (Deal). It really sux.

The Pigz are causing more problems than they are helping , by far. Imo.

I seen that bust on the news last night, they showed about 10 plants it look like hanging up drying.

 

In the last few months there has been a few busts up the coast and down coast from were i live bundy was just the latest one, a few weeks back there was another bust in marybrough (qld) from memory there was over a 100 plants...

busts are happening every day in every area and it pains me to think just how much weed they are actually seizing

You have to love the way they calculate the street value yeah once its broken down into sticks its worth that much per plant maybe but thats not the realistic value.

 

The drug squad need to get with the times.
