Naphthine's comment about an epidemic of cannabis induced medical disasters is just the usual hysterical nonsense. I actually know a fair bit about the medical science side of cannabis, and he is talking shit. Used sensibly cannabis is one of the least problematic drugs around (for adult use only, of course, children are different because they are still growing and so should not take any recreational drugs). Compare and contrast with the problems caused by legal alcohol use.

 

Banning bongs will not make one jot of difference. Like others have said, stoners are an inventive lot and it is pretty easy to make a bong out of common household materials. Stoners will make do and just carry right on.

 

The whole 'drug war' thing is an expensive, destructive failure.

Don't worry about him too much, though. This shit comes and goes all the time. There were plenty of control freaks around 30 years ago trying the same crap, and they failed then.
