Where there's smoke there's ire over bong sales

``BAN the bong'' is Denis Napthine's latest catchcry after the MP discovered the drug-using device was being sold in Warrnambool.

 

The member for South West Coast told State Parliament on Tuesday that bongs _ commonly used to smoke illegal drugs like marijuana _ should not be available in shops.

 

``It is strange to me that we can walk down the streets of many parts of Melbourne, and indeed in my own electorate in Warrnambool, and see in the shop windows devices whose only use is the taking of drugs, such as the smoking of

marijuana,'' Dr Napthine told Parliament.

 

He said there was no legitimate legal use for the smoking devices.

 

``They can hardly be used as a decorative item on the mantelpiece - they are inappropriate as a flower vase.''

 

Dr Napthine yesterday said he was shocked when he first noticed bongs on display in shops.

 

The Standard knows of one store that sells bongs in Warrnambool.

 

``I couldn't believe that it wasn't illegal,'' Dr Napthine said.

 

``My view was that this sort of material should have been banned years ago and I was shocked to see not only are they not illegal they were publicly promoted for sale.''

 

He said that strong action was needed to prevent bong use because of dangers associated with using marijuana.

 

``We've seen too many young people who have done significant long-term damage through the use of marijuana and I know people who've ended up with serious mental health problems and family friends who lost loved ones through suicide

directly linked to marijuana,'' Dr Napthine said.

 

``To walk past shops and see bongs openly and legally for sale shocked and surprised me - it's unacceptable.''

 

Dr Napthine said he hoped the State Government would consider making bongs illegal to sell or display in stores or possess.

 

``I'm urging the Government to ban the bong,'' Dr Napthine said.

 

``I was pleased one or two speakers after me from Labor's side agreed with me so I would trust the Government would listen to this request.''

thats some bullshit im a macgyver smoker, if my bong is taken away, i'll use an orchy bottle and a bit of hose...if thats taken away, i will make a bong out of an apple, pen and a bit of tin foil then again, i'd roll joints before going back to the fruit bongs, but the point of my post is that pot smokers are highly inventive and can turn anything into a bong, even home cleaning appliances like vacuum cleaners

for starters, they make an Excellent flower vase... all you do is stick your flowers in the hole in the side, cover up the small hole opposite, apply heat and....

Plus, if this idiot of a doctor would open his narrow-minded eyes just a bit, he'd realise it's a harm-minimisation device, and without it's cooling effect on the smoke and removal of a poriton of carcinogens from cannabis, there would be more cannabis-users with worse lung damage, walking in to this doctors clinic and saying "dr. dickhead, my lungs have been fucked over from too much smoking [ciggs, ofc ] quick, I need some tax-funded surgery to save my arse."

So In conclusion , My findings have revealed that Bongs are good.And It is my recommendation that each household should have at least one for safety reasons/smoking/and flowervases.
